I know we are frustrated with that result, but some of my permutations now that things have settled. 1. The talk of Uyo being cursed doesn’t really hold weight to me. We had enough chances to finish this match off in the first 45 mins. If we really think Lagos should be our main stadium, then it behooves the NFF to rehabilitate it and bring it up to FIFA standards. 2. We really need to scout for a ball playing midfielder that can take the pressure out of games in the end. Kill the tempo and secure points. 3. I don’t think FIFA will deduct the 3pts from SA for fielding an ineligible player. I think Motsepe will do some behind door politicking. Regardless, our players need to focus on winning out and giving themselves a chance, no matter how slim that chance is. 4. We should push on with Chelle through AFCON and beyond. This constant chopping and changing of managers does no one any good. WCQ will have finished by the time AFCON comes around. Barring an early exit, he should be given time to develop a system and pattern of play for AFCON 25 and 27. |

Well as it stands all hope is not lost. South Africa risks getting 3 points ducked from them for fielding ineligible player... one Mokoena their freekick and penalty specialist. If found guilty, Benin or Lesotho will get the 3 points and the group gets blown open again

joelsteron:This is what killed Chelle and his schoolboys: Score an early goal to destabilize your opponent ❌ If you can't, then score early in second half ❌ *Okay, now that's you've finally screped out a goal: basic attacking style counter attack ❌ Make sure your midfield is stacked with more bodies ❌ keep possession to starve your opponent of the ball ❌ 😓😓😓 2 Likes |

9JAMac10: Chief, dead this home based players talk... It will do further harm to the team.. Home based players just want to use the super eagles to market themselves... Let's say we invite 10 of the best home based players and use them in 2 games in one international window, trust me, in the next international window, at least 7 of those players will be somewhere in some obscure league. Then you will have to call up another set of players to replace them, and on and on it goes.. that is no way o build a team... Keshi might have used home based players like Mbah and Obaobona to win AFCON, but going forward, the idea didn't work for him and it became a marketing strategy.. 2 Likes |

My take even though unpopular: 1) NFF is nothing but a corrupt organization. Unfortunately, they are an extension of a failed Nigerian state,so no surprises here. In saner climes, when you miss out on two world cups, the football organization will be overhauled and key men sacked and then probed. But it will be business essential as usual. After all, Tinubu is our president 2) Certain players should be eased out of the national set up. I know someone of them are favorites of people won this thread but if I'm being honest, Ndidi has never had an excellent game for nigeria. His monster performance week in and out for Leicester those days was the reason he got called severally. But even when he was in his prime, he was average at best for the Super Eagles. I'm not surprised at his lacklustre performance over 2 games. What surprises me if why chelle saw this and kept him in the starting line up. This doesn't inspire confidence in Chelle's decision making going forward. 3) This take will ruffle so many feathers but anchoring your midfield creativity on a subpar player as iwobi is a recipe for disaster. The guy is an average player. While I commend his loyalty to choosing Nigeria over England from the get go, the truth is we must not be sentimental. If we're being objective, Iwobi's games are usually a strong 6/10 for us and have been so since AfCON ended. We can't be tweaking positions just to fit someone into the team. We have done this so much for iwobi and he ends up delivering average performances 4) Odimhen is doing too much of a carry job and it's worrying. The moment he looses form or gets injured, we are in hot soup. Literally 4) Lookman didn't really perform well today. 6.5/10. He should more, otherwise, he remains a solid member of the first team 5) please stop inviting iheanacho to the provisional list thereby reducing slots for more deserving players. I don't see the justification for his continual invite. I mean, you don't even have to be a UEFA licensed coach to see this. Haba! His time is up in the SE 6) Old man Ekong should be eased out slowly from the team. He has given his best and he can't do more than this. He should be dropped to the bench for a more younger defender and let him mentor from there. From there, let them ease him out slowly. We can't keep depending on a defender his age to anchor our defense. It's not tenable at all. 7) I don't know if it's me being emotional but we need to stop picking players like some are already guaranteed a place in the team. That's why some players don't give their all because even if they perform poorly, next list, they'll be sure to see their names there. As it stands, only players like lookman, Osimhen, Ola Aina, Iwobi and Ekong have really paid their dues. The rest need to be told that they need to fight for their shirts. All this jamboree of Iheanacho and Chukwueze should stop. I mean chunks had 1 goal in how many matches as an attacking winger for his club side. Is he the best we can do at that position? And this is a genuine question please 2 Likes 1 Share |

Randy Waldrum in 2023 said we will not qualify for World Cup, with the way we run our football istrative wise, countries have left us in the past Checkout Rwandas display of sponsors & ours We have refused to move with the times 1. Make Osimhen Vice captain He’s a once in a generation talent from Nigeria No disrespect to Yekini but Osimhen is the better striker. He needs to show us the way forward. He’s our best/most ambitious player tbh 2. Osimhen should be involved in selecting the merit list going forward, I’m sure the guy will be really hurt right now 3. All the blame should go to NFF, they are not transparent with anything From coach hiring to players listing Paddy paddy NFF We may not qualify for 2030 World Cup if they continue to run NFF like politics in Nigeria Corruption don wound us finish 2 Likes |

But seriously, if we must play a 2 man striker to accommodate Osimhen and Lookman, why don't we start with 3-5-2... I don't understand why subsequent coaches have failed to see how well that formation will suit the team... Aside Simon, who is inconsistent, we don't really have any better winger for us to be playing 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 all the time... 3-5-2 will give us more balance in midfield and defense... Anyway, what do I know? 1 Like |

Ball playing midfielders. Uche is one. Akinsanmiro is another. Nwakali in EFL League one is another but let's forget him. The first 2 are ball playing midfielders who will do a good job, I am convinced but no... we keep snubbing this "conundrum" coach after coach nd after coach. Even Eguavoen mentioned this when he failed to bear Rwanda at home and also knew this when we failed against Ghana. My problem is that they know but still don't get proactive on the solution.
