1. So we should cut them off. 2. For anyone wondering, we supply 6% of the electriicty we generate to other countries. Nigeria has capped electricity exports to neighboring countries (Benin, Niger, and Togo) to 6% of its total grid electricity at any point in time source It's been there since last year by the by... 3. And yes, it is charged at full price. 28 Likes 1 Share |

This is a good move from the FG. Nigeria has been supplying them electricity for years, it's only right they pay for what they consumed. 25 Likes |

I used to underestimate that street quote "if person explain Nigeria give you, and you understand, the person no explain well give you be that" How on earth would I believe that Nigeria supplies Benin/Togo with electricity? Last year I was in these two countries for about 3 months. During my time there, I can count the number of times that the power went off.. Even when our national grid collapsed for days, there was still steady power. Like how? What magic is Nigeria doing, that is enabling these countries to have steady power, that we can't do for ourselves? And you need to even see the infrastructure that enables them to have light 24/7... Nothing special. Everyone taps light directly from the pole and they have their prepaid meters outside their houses, sometimes at the main road sef... 9 Likes 1 Share |

Salewa97: And to what extent do you think your government has been paying for all the services they've been getting from other countries? Is $8.8m compared to the money you're owing China alone? Don't be carried away by the emotions of the government, abeg! 2 Likes |

Looking at nairaland comments/contributions, it's patently obvious that there is no way Nigeria can be a viable democracy, there are just too many stupid people Someone who is selfishly and lazily underutilizing their brain at 40, 50% capacity is entitled to the same full vote as the other guy maximizing his mental powers 100% of his waking hours? And the mentally lazy and stupid people are in the majority? It's basically a recipe for chaos, which is exactly what we have in Nigeria today 2 Likes |

Electricity wise, we are not self sufficient. Before we start wasting state fund to Egypt, let’s approach Benin to teach us how they manage what we transmit to them to achieve the relative stability Nigerians laud their country for when they visit. Our problem is never creation but management issues.
