You see this thing called degree or certificate? E fit hold person down spiritual attack. I spoke with one of my friends few years back, a brilliant guy. He finished at Futo with a 2:1. But after school, no job came immediately, so he waited, searched, prayed and nothing happened. Instead of changing strategy, guess what he did? He went back to school for a master’s degree. Why? Because his mother was ing him. She just wanted to see her son add more certificates. He finished his master’s. Still couldn't find a decent job. Now, the mother is no more. And guess what? He is still broke and now looking for someone to sponsor his PhD. I had to ask him, "why are you letting degrees hold you hostage? Why are you still reading outdated theories while real-world problems are crying for solutions?" What exactly are you looking for at the top of that academic ladder? He started crying but crying wont solve the matter. Listen to me oohh, degrees are not bad because I have one already. But they are not the guarantee of success. The world today is not looking for how many certificates you have. It’s looking for what problems you can solve. The value and skill you carry inside of you. Many companies are not hiring your CV, they are hiring your value, your skillsets. And if your value no fit solve their problems, dey go ghost you, PhD or not. I think we need to stop our younger ones from worshipping degrees like they are gods. Every young person is running to enter university without identifying the skill he is going to refine. Degrees are only useful when combined with real-life, income-producing, problem-solving skills. What will shock you is that the boy who learnt how to sell phones or sow clothes is now paying rent for the guy who is doing his PhD in Peace and Conflict Resolution. Let me say it clearly: Your degree might actually be holding you back and not your village people, It’s not that school is bad, but because you have been made to believe that school alone is enough. It’s not. I pray we begin to raise a new generation of thinkers, doers, builders, and problem solvers, and STOP mass producing certificate holders who are job seekers forever. In Nigeria, we are not short of certificates holders, we are short of creators, problem sovers, and business builders. I am the BillionaireMechanic, and this is one truth that will set someone free today. If this post touched you, share it before a friend waste another 5 years chasing another paper that can't pay bills. Copied. 26 Likes 3 Shares |

Spot on, Nigeria has a unproductive population. The Chinese and indians are coming in daily and setting up and running manufacturing/processing plants. They are cashing out daily and taking back millions of dollars out of the country 🤷. Northern Nigeria is good for startup manufacturing as their are little or no industries. 2 Likes |

Having Degrees in the right course like STEM isn't useless. Having Degrees is philosophy in the arts and courses that add no value is useless 2 Likes |

Its So complicated, Africans doesn’t want to help themselves, the leaders are very selfish, same with the people, nobody is creating opportunity for others who are willing to thrive, no matter how intelligent you are, you need enabling environment or money for success else it’ll take a lot of time to arrive at same spot Nature made us Africans evil and the worst of it is that we’re populating faster and a lot faster, eventually blacks will take over the world and burn it down to rubbles 1 Like |

Why go to University when there is AGI ? Just learn how to read and write and let AGI teach you the rest while you are learning skills. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Degree is not the issue, the question is what type of degree are you accumulating? Any degree outside stem, ai, r&d na only God fit help you except you are gainfully employed as an academician and wants to progress in the academic ladder .

The Gen Zs are getting it right somehow. Although their focus is not on building small scale projects. They are no heavily involved in salary/paid jobs. For example, See what some Gen Z are doing and they are making it. https://youtube.com/shorts/oZMr7tpX6qI?si=DcA5rStzZrFGZemx 1 Like |

You're absolutely right. Speak to them to learn a trade or do another job aside from what they read, and some will use the phrase 'God forbid'. People who japa to the UK are looking for sponsorship even if it's to pack shiit for five years in order to secure their stay. But someone in Nigeria after school can not humble and go learn a skill for some years or learn a trade. Some have made up their mind to be fast with riches indulging in yahoo and other vices. Nigerians have pride 1 Like 1 Share |

Random friend, didn't mention the course he had a degree , used the friend as a balnke t for all. The fact remains a degree( in a good course ) remains one of the easiest ways for a nobody to be a somebody. Banks are paying GTs(without connection) nothing less than 400k, which business are you going to start afresh that will pay you such except you are investing 10M... |

Degree looks like the problem because there are no jobs. If there were jobs, they will have somewhere to go. APC said unemployment rate is low but we know what's up.
