Guys, i have a question. I bidded for Tbills at the primary market through my bank on the 5th of March for a 364 days tenor. I was surprised, I got 16.75% , which was different from what the stop rate was of 18.39. Though, while filling the form, I left the bidded rate empty, cos I wasn't too sure of what to put and my officer seems naive too. The question is, since i didnt quote my rate, am I not supposed to get the FG rate? Please someone should advice me, thank you.

jeffdaniel: If u left that place blank, meaning you are going with the bank's rate (which is most likely lower than the stop rate). Which bank did you do the bidding with? 1 Like |

Good money Everyone If I invest 200k in Stanbic money Market what would be my daily interest? |

Hello guys, I am new to treasury bills and would appreciate some insight. I am wondering why anyone would want to go for the 364 longer investment option. From my basic Maths, if I have 10,000,000 to invest, is it not far more profitable to invest every 91 days at say 17% and reinvest at maturity. Than a single investment at say 24% for 364 days Is there an advantage on investment for longer days? Thank you in anticipation |
presiade(m): 8:46am On Mar 24 |
Read some previous pages of the thread to find your answer—you’ll learn by doing so. But to help you, rates are quoted as p.a. and are pro-rated for all tenors less than 364 days.

Educationalserv: Like the ones Wike is taking over in Abuja and the structures destroyed in Lagos. I only begged you to place the risk involved in both side by side. As for me, whenever I want to take risk, I am deliberate about it hence the plea for you to also educate your audience of the imminent risk involved in both investment. 6 Likes |
