Scheduled Ride

Please I need someone to fully explain this scheduled ride thing on Bolt to me.

I started Bolt driving in Lagos just last week. So last night, I was moving around the app and saw an option for scheduled rides. I clicked and saw there was one for today at 7:30am. I accepted the request. I now saw that I have to be online 45 minutes before the ride, which is 6:45am. I woke up early, went to buy fuel, and parked outside my house by 6:30am. When I checked the place the scheduled ride was on the app, that particular ride I had earlier confirmed had disappeared. I was disappointed.

I saw another one again for 9am this morning. I clicked on it, and confirmed/booked it down, but when I checked at 8:15 it had disappeared again.

Is there anyone here that uses this feature? Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

Omoapena, pearl1910

U are supposed to be driving towards the location of the request. Or is it next door to u already?
After accepting, u are supposed to confirm your availability within 1hr of the trip time and start driving towards the pick-up.

Also Riders can still cancel just like normal trips. So if it disappeared, then perhaps d Rider has cancelled the trip.

not everyone is aware of the speeding camera or the enforcement yet, by the time VIO stops them or they want to renew their papers, that's when they will know...
Inside life.
But at night, just like most traffic lights stop functioning that you can drive without their caution, shey the speed limits also stand on late night driving?
Like, one would still get captured if they exceed the speed limit even if say na late hour for night?

Much respect, sir.

But have you ever used the option before?

Yes but it was just 30mins away from pick up time. So I immediately started driving towards the pick-up point because there was traffic on that route. Not like this ur own that's overnight.

I saw a Tiktok video of a guy that was fined at 3:50am on that MBA road, same thing he said, will he be moving slow at midnight. But I still believe the fines is extortion because no road sign whatsoever, atimes you forget speed limit when you are in hurry. Imagine, Omoapena was fined at 65km/phr. Moreso, 80km/hr on 3MB is not fair for such highway.

Na because our country lack system and working judiciary, when speed limit sign is not visible for road s, it’s illegal to ticket the s.. in a sane cline, the agency in charge will be petitioned or sued ..

Europe , South Africa, and some North African countries, even some part of Ghana, speed limit signage is always at the beginning of the road, middle and almost at the end of such road. in some areas, speed limit number is painted into the road as a reminder, while in some you will find speed limit reader informing you when you are about to go beyond the required limit
Lagos of all places should have this, but then for their pocket and selfish reason, they rather prioritise making money over safety warning.

it's crazy, I'm even thinking the camera can just capture you along with someone else that was speeding above the limit and they will fine you along with the actual car that committed the offense.

just like in the picture below

Thank you, my brother.
One this I know be say, sooner or later, this stuff go cause wahala between motorists and the officials (law).
Cos clearly, it is pure extortion.
That 80km on 3mb dey vex me, feels unreasonable.

Much respect, boss.

Good day people. I do Bolt driving in lagos, and I hardly get rides. Maybe 3 a day. I live around egbeda-idimu area. Who can advise me on spots to drive to that would increase the likelihood of getting more requests. It gets tiring just sitting in the car for hours.

You should have started reading the thread from last year so you will know were to position, how to avoid one way etc. Everything you need have been treated here before. What kind of phone do use?? and i hope you are have not been blocked from receiving cash trips. Anyway I don't reside in Lagos, but others will guide you.

What exactly is wrong with the phone? It's a 4 gig RAM phone.

Forget about the ram. What make a phone fast is the chipset not ram. Your's comes with mediatek helio g35. Look for a midrange redmi, it's better.

Please can I used any other state plate number other than Lagos for my car and bolt will accept it even though I am driving in Lagos? Because I tried updating my new plate number online and bolt is rejecting it

WAZE .. I don’t know if these is available on Nigeria play store or Apple Store.. but it’s very good to track speed and speed limit of the area you are driving on… here it inform you of pot-hole ahead, police ahead, car breakdown on the road and some other issues on the road you are driving into.. I prefer it over Gmap.
