Former Senate Minority Leader and the lawmaker representing Abia South District, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe says if he were President Bola Tinubu, he would have handled the political crisis in Rivers State differently and not impose a state of emergency on the state.

President Tinubu on Wednesday suspended Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, Prof. Victoria Odu and the state house of assembly and also declared a State of Emergency in Rivers State for an initial period of six months.

He also appointed Vice iral Ibokette Ibas (Rtd) as Sole of Rivers State.

Speaking on Arise TV, Abaribe who says every president has a responsibility to maintain law and order, however said he would have handled the situation differently.

“I didn’t see it coming. I thought that there was still a window for a political settlement”.

“It is very unfortunate that we have gotten to this point. We have been following the story. Every president has a responsibility for law and order and given all the circumstances, maybe the president felt that this is the best way to go”.

“If it was me, I will probably not have followed this line. Maybe I would have preempted all these because there were opportunities to have dealt with this matter but somehow, we are where we are. There is nothing we can do about it. Tomorrow, we will certainly look into it in the national interests”.

“I think eventually, we must come to a consensus. No one wants a solution where there is anarchy in the country”.

Tinubu clearly lacks the wisdom of Solomon.

Wike (Jealous woman) wanted the child (Rivers state) divided (Burnt), if he won't have it. Fubara was ready to compromise like the woman that loved her child.

King I-no-be-Solomon Tinubu, decided to divide and burn the child, in favour of the jealous woman (Wike).

My people, you can now draw your conclusion on whether your president is wise or not..

Every president has a responsibility to maintain law and order.

Tinubu is the president, not the governor of Rivers state. His actions must always prioritize national interest above all else.

Tinubu sold out his 2027 ambition because of wike. You can't swim in irregularities and force yourself to power and think you can get away with it.

I see nothing wrong in what Abaribe said. He simply emphasized the fact that he is not the president. That's all.

That is exactly why you are not the president and will never be the president.

There is absolutely no cause for the hasty declaration of state of emergency in River state, desperadoes are always hasty leaving trails of error in their quest to play a fast one, but they always end up in regrets just like we have it in fuel subsidy removal hasty decision of the president.

Fubara is already steering the state ship to stability and besides there are numerous untapped options to utilize but HELL NO because the fast Maradona can't think straight since his sense of reasoning is beclouded by 2027 do or die maneuverings.

What a country.

Obidents won't you guys rest about an election that's still 2 years away?
The irony of this whole thing is that after talking and talking and talking and talking without end about 2027 election, u will still arrive in that election without candidates for so many posts, without agents at so many polling units etc.

Tinubu took the best decision that would favour him and Wike at the long run otherwise 2027 may be difficult and Lord Wike may reveal what he did in 2023 election. Atiku and former PDP national chairman testify to that. The president dancing to the tune of Wike will see a repeat of Rivers 2023 presidential election formula being repeated in Abuja.

It's kind of funny how Tinubu's ers always believe that Tinubu always makes the best decisions even though everything has gotten worse under Tinubu

President Tinubu is doing great.

Those that are saying he should declare state of emergency are the same ones that will criticize him for doing so.

Attacking oil installations was Fubara’s biggest mistake. That was a no no. I sounding this note or warming severally to Fubara on this forum but he simply refused to heed to wise advice. As it stands, he’s one leg out. The new will sack the State Chief Judge based on age falsification and appoint an acting CJ who will be pro-Wike. The impeachment will be seamless after the emergency rule except a political solution and be reached quickly.

Apart from this video which is clearly indicting on the part of the governor, Mr. President also talked about security reports available to him.

See, political affiliations aside, we all know the camp that has been threatening to start bombing oil facilities if Fubara is impeached. The fact that Fubara has not even deemed it fit as the governor to as much as issue a press statement to condemn the attacks says it all. No sensible president will stand idle and watch politicians attack the county’s economic resources because of political fights.

If fubara was wise immediately those started bombing pipelines he should have release statements totally stating he is totally against it and will deal with anyone culpable.

Him keeping quiet made it look like he was in and that what the presidency used against him.
