Omoapena: I have been using CNG since last November and I can categorically tell you that all 4 points you mentioned in your post are wrong. I am still observing the thing and I will provide a detailed expose on my experience in 2 months time. |
Omoapena(m): 1:04am On Mar 07 |
Iinnov8: 😏 did you assimilate the aforementioned points? if yes, so you're saying CNG isn't affordable to convert to, isn't fuel efficient, parts aren't available and if the car breaks down, you can't easily get mechanic to fix the car. is that what you're saying? 4 Likes |

Omoapena: Your comment, which I emboldened, is very funny. It is easy to see why you are easily picked as an object of ridicule here. I understand English, bros, and I speak out of direct experience and as a direct , so I have earned the right for you to listen to me in matters relating to CNG usage - CNG is NOT easy or cheap to convert. Only Nipco provides a subsidised conversion rate. The last time i checked, it will cost you nearly 1m to convert a 5cylinder vehicle, with months of painful delays and back and forths. Then it will cost you an extra 300 - 500k to do the conversion in other centres. How many people can easily dole out that sum? - Rate of gas consumption is dependent on the number of cylinder your vehicle has (just like fuel) and the pressure of the dispensing Point at the time. The more cylinders you have and if the pressure is low at the time you bought the gas, then you will find yourself going to thr gas station more often. - The moment you port to gas, mechanics will be scared of touching your vehicle because of all the connections and contraptions of the gas kit at your engine area and boot. And if your vehicle has an issue, you will keep wondering whether it is the gas installation or something else that is the source of the problem. Of course, your first port of call will be the engineers who did the installation, but they will simply tell you to bring it for re-calibration, and they will plug in their laptop to re-calibrate, then refer you to your mechanic, who will then refer you back to them and you will keep going back and forth - Parts availability is inconsequential here. You will always depend on the conversion centre for any gas-related parts 14 Likes |

Iinnov8: your first paragraph has to be the funniest thing, I asked you if you understood my points which you claimed are wrong cox its surprising as you claimed its wrong as that has been people's opinions about CNG, did you even read my last paragraph where I said personally, I won't convert to CNG due to personal reservations. since you're an experienced of CNG, you could have just outlined your counter reason why everything I said is wrong as I only outlined my own reasons due to informations from s and installers I read both on here and off here. did you say object of ridicule? abeg, where did that one come from, anyway who cares? back to everything you said, you claimed mechanics are scared to touch your car due to the CNG kit, I don't know how truthful this is, but I've seen someone brought CNG powered vehicle to my mechanic and he wasn't afraid or reluctant to fix the vehicle for the owner. you claimed parts aren't available but I wasn't talking about the kits parts, I'm talking about the car parts in general which you already familiar with. additionally, everything I said about CNG has been everyone's submissions about CNG, even Gazzuzz(RIP) also said similar things about CNG, I'm surprised you have a different experience... 3 Likes |

Omoapena:You get mind dey argue with an experienced of this said alternative cheaper fuel. You will not convert your vehicle but will others converting theirs. Here is a first time experience giving the other hidden issues one might experience when converted but you still doubt it. Going back and forth to the installation centre can be very damning and God help you if you are out of range when you get issue. He mentioned pressure of dispensing point in all the late Gazuzz videos I've watched, he never mentioned that. The only thing he said was the engine loosing a fraction of its power while on CNG compared to Petrol 2 Likes |

sandammy: it's funny how you said I will others, I'm not an advocate for CNG, I'm only submitting my opinion if anyone wants to cut out from fuel expenses and I'm only comparing CNG to other options if you want to cut out from fuel expenses and reduce cost. aside from gazzuzz rigorous research and ads towards converting, I've talked to an experienced who claimed he's been spending less since he converted and he has no issue whatsoever, the only issue he outlined is the same issue you said gazzuzz outlined and he said anytime he wants to accelerate quickly, he will switch to fuel. moreover, experience differ and installers differs too, why should you generalize one person's experience? you must have heard of cases where CNG car was exploded, and people claimed its not safe but we later found out they used wrong kits/cylinder for those ones and if those s want to talk about CNG, they will condemn it based on their experience... well, this are s reviews I'm talking about before you switch to anyone. So, its left for anyone that wants to switch to do their background research before taking that decision and not just jump into something because of someone's speculations or submissions... 1 Like |

Omoapena: There's no point arguing over this. A first hand with a first hand experience has spoken, it could be one in as many not too pleasant experiences. Personally, I've never really liked the idea of CNG conversion, it seem very crude and way out of car manufacturers purview. 1 Like |

They guy always complain of not getting request, unless he turn on is economy. I thought he was joking not until the day i was with him. I got like 10 request on my phone back to back and he got non until i left him. And note his acceptance rate and driver's score are higher than mine and my economy has been off since that category was launched. So that's why i said the type of phone matters, but i understand your point. Much respect boss. 1 Like |

Guys, I have a problem I don't know if anyone has experienced this before. My car gear is kind of giving me issues. I think only first and second gear enters smoothly. Once it reaches 40kp/h it does not engage the next gear. It makes a loud sound like when you drive and you engage neutral and press on gas(That kind of sound). Every other thing works. Reverse, sport etc. What could be the issue? My mechanic mentioned something like the fan isn't supplying enough air making the oil to dry up. I want to know if anyone ever experienced this? And what's the possible solution? |

Good morning guys. I just randomly checked just as I usually do, to see if I have any VIO Fines and saw one for 20k issued on the 27th of February 2025 with the details "Non display of a valid route and route number". This is the second time I am getting fines for one of those ride hailing related documents people were coerced into doing by LASG and VIO some years ago. I seldon drive on these platforms anymore, except for a couple weekends here and there, and even when i do, I only do it within my area. I do my regular document renewals even before they expire Please, has anyone ever had to take off those body tag, lasdri, hackney and driver badge documents away from their particulars? If you have, how did you go about it? Because that's what i intend to do. I can't keep getting fined for useless documents that I don't use or need anymore. I'l appreciate any useful insights from those who have gome through this too and solved it. Thanks. |
