I have a close family (in law) that Esu is their family Orisha and I know two other families that have Esu in their Ojubo.

Orishas are not "lesser gods" , they're simply "Orishas"

That many people don't worship him anymore doesn't invalidate his importance or favouritism ,how many Sango or Ogun worshippers have you come across ? The most prominent worshippers are IFA adherents .

Those that use him as parallel to biblical or Quranic devil were either mischievous or ignorant because they could have used Jesus or Mohammed as parallel to Orunmila as well .
oh so you are an esu worshipper ? No wonder you been talking nonsense all day 😆

But if you study this thing closely they are mocking oshosi which they should. They are presenting oshosi as half the man he is ( only waist and head with no leg ) meaning his power is finished and the people have come out to celebrate and mock. Oshosi was a hunter, a hunter of men not animals. Deified in the sky as Orion and the Bible as nimrod

What so much could government do if the society for the supposed tourism is averse to it (e.g. Moslems stoning Obatala procession in Ile-Ife, the very home of the Obatala himself)?

There's need for education of the people first, I'd say. Most of our people are ignorant about the mythologies that follow the gods. E.g. Christians see them as idols. No, they are not idols, they are not carvings, they lived, and they are not worshipped per se. Practically, only their priests "worship" them. The Moslems proclaim there are no gods. "Shut it! There are gods, Gd's instruction was only to not worship them, not assign another besides".

Rauf Aregbesola introduced the teaching of Odu Ifa to secondary schools, and what did the Moslems do? Condemned it and called for its abolition, even Christians.

The gods were unique peoples or people with supernatural abilities or divine powers. They died, and similarly to the Jesus Christ, people continue to offer them their favorite foods (pray) in return for benefits based on the divine powers they possessed. And there are also knowledge of crafts ed through their priests.

To Yoruba, """there's only Olodumare, 'Olodumare wanted to help humans and gave Ifa and the divine peoples- the ones that head picked (orisha), loosely, the divines from God, loosely, the children of God.'."""

Our people, regardless of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, atheism, whatever, if not see it as religion, should see the art in it. The intelligence, the solutions, the artistry in Ifa for one is so appreciable.

Say that a tourist comes, and tells of his purpose to the Christian/Moslem receptionist at his hotel, he'd most likely meet hostility.
A prophet has honour but in his country - Jews will become hostile to you if you talk about Jesus, same as Nigerians avoiding you if you talk about their local gods!

Since you have no defence, you've resorted to adhominem but to point out your hasty conclusion,I consider all religions as man made ,not necessary in our society and I only believe in higher power .

ing Isese is because indigenous religion should be more recognised than imported ones to counter neo colonialism but not because it's different in belief than others .

They are all fairy tales .

IFA doesn't believe in helfire ? What do you think the story of sopona and babaluaye is ? You are not learned my friend. These are orishas in hellfire. Sopona and babaluaye

Everything else you wrote up there is trash bro

It's ignorant of you to consider Sonpono or Obaluaye as hell fire .

The concept of hell fire solely deals with a fire burning where Satan is or will end up and where sinners or those that didn't believe in Jesus or follow Mohammed go to .

In Isese ,we don't believe in that . Though there's a believe of afterlife but hellfire was never there and the heaven is not in the concept of Abrahamic religions heavens .

Sonpono is worshipped in Isese ,she's just an Orisha like every other Orishas. No Orisha came from hell fire . I think you're the one that need to demand refund from your teachers or check if you really study anything .

Even in the Bible ,no demon was forged in hell fire ,they're considered as Lucifer's followers that fell along with him .

My Mom's family are typical Ogun worshippers, same with my maternal grandma side. Hunters mostly worship Ogun, so he's a popular diety in Yorubaland. Where I come from, nobody openly worship Esu. He's only used at special occasions.
