We want an independent assessment and verification of these numbers being bandied around by APCs Internet hirelings and agbadorian dingbats alike. Once they start parroting one propoganda line this way, be rest assured that the "talking point" was handed down to them by their tribal handlers at Abuja. It is starting to look as suspicious as the quantity of oil outputs they ascribe to South Eastern states. They will tell you the south-east produces no oil and contributes zilch to VAT, but once the same South east asks to be allowed to go, Abuja starts having a fit of fear laced with all sorts of public meltdowns. Let's have an independent assessment and verification.

If this calculation is true, there is need for tax reform bill so that every state would receive exactly what they contribute.

Edo State is not doing bad tho, kudos to Obaseki

There's something obviously not clear about this VAT. How could Balyesa contributed more than Delta State. I will begin to see this VAT of a thing as rubbish

Na that clueless Ademola Adeleke bad management in Osun State will destroyed the economy in Osun State. See where Osun is under his leadership. Very bad. I know vividly by next year 2026 governorship, he will be heavily disgraced out of the government house niii. He’s a disgrace to the good people of Osun State

You always reason like a fool. Ordinary tax your region can't generate. Feeding bottle republic. No wonder south east and north are not agreeing to tax reforms. I trust Tinubu and Lagos government cos they will soon increases tax in Lagos state if the tax reform bill continues to delay. Unproductive region.

Such stat doesn't exist.

Why? Because VAT is usually recorded on point of sale. Which is not practised by Nigeria. Therefore there is no record of what states are contributing to VAT.

What we have in Nigeria is what headquarters are contributing, which is a wrong practice.

You people are not smart cos there is never a time you have contributed meaningfully. How many foreign investors and non Igbo investors can come to an hostile region now war zone to set up huge businesses. Even Obi cubana and chief priest have almost relocated their businesses.

Look at what Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi and Abia is contributing, and their indigenes will open their parasitic mouth calling other people parasite.

I wander why VATs has to be centralized, it should be under the exclusive purview of the states.

I believe VAT is currently wrongly named and paid in Nigeria.

It should be paid once by the final consumer instead of by where companies have their Headquarters. So we need those impending Tax Reforms to adjust that imbalance amongst other things.

Look at Ogun and Anambra lying 23rd and 16th respectively, if it was bad news, those two states would be t first.

Not just tax but also petroleum reform bill where everyone controls their oil resources.

Honestly... National Audit Commission Bill on mind ....
The reckless spending by politicians should be in check also... Otherwise, the taxpayers are on a long thing

VAT should be paid by companies at the final point of consumption. While should the VATs for all the major FMCGs like UAC , NB, Nestle, etc be paid only in Lagos just because the headquarters of these companies are in Lagos?

I worked for over a decade with some of these companies and their major profits were in the SE Onitsha and Aba especially.

Most of Lagos 303Billion VAT revenues are generated from the other 35 states

Oga the way VATs in Nigeria is computed is wrong.
VATs should be paid at the final point of consumption and not just at companies headquarters in lagos.

A considerable amount of VATs paid in lagos is generated by businesses conducted in the east.
