In Yorùbá spirituality, Òṣóòsì, the Orìṣà of hunting, precision, and justice, holds a profound place as a guide for those seeking clarity, purpose, and alignment in their lives. Known as a master tracker and a guardian of the wilderness, Òṣóòsì’s essence extends beyond the physical hunt, serving as a metaphorical com for setting and achieving intentions. His attributes offer a framework for focus, balance, and determination in navigating life’s complexities.

The Symbolism of Òṣóòsì
Òṣóòsì is depicted as a skilled archer with unmatched precision, representing the ability to identify a target and achieve it with unwavering focus. His tools—especially the bow and arrow—are symbolic of setting clear goals and the discipline required to pursue them. As a hunter, he embodies self-reliance, adaptability, and a deep connection to nature, reminding us of the importance of being attuned to our surroundings and inner selves.

The forest, where Òṣóòsì thrives, represents both mystery and opportunity. It is a space where one must navigate the unknown with courage and strategy, much like the challenges we face when setting and working toward our intentions.

If Osun state was serious, they could make so much money from Tourism by repackaging the Yoruba gods, and there are about 53 of them in total.

Oh, he's one of my favorite gods. The god of precise hunting, and also quite the path finder.

Ogun, Oya, Osanyin, Osoosi, Esu Odara, and Obatala in that order are the gods of Yoruba I'm most fascinated about.

One of his story was that his mother, Yemoja was behind him, and did shoot an arrow to the front, and parallel like the earth, so straight, the arrow went and shot his mother. That wasn't his intent, although, but tells the story of his straight arrow'ing and backfiring.

The Yorubas who abandoned their rich culture to adopt jew and Arab cultures are the greatest inferiority complex-challenged people ever. I consider them chaff.

The real Yorubas are those who despite being displaced from their roots into very remote and far flung continents of the earth, still held onto their culture. These are the true omoluabis.

A culture unique to them only, no borrow-pose. No adoption.

If u are a Yoruba from Brazil, Trinidad or Cuba reading this, thank u for saving our culture.

Great!

Association of Yorubas religion should lobby for a day dedicated to celebrating all the Orishas so that it can be more pronounced.

Also ,they need to fight for the Esu misrepresentation in Abrahamic religions .

Esu is not Satan/Devil .

Ok, I appreciate Ifa, Ifa is like divine. While Orunmila is called a god, I don't like to liken him as one, but a wise sage, and his own place in my radar is divine. Like, he holds the same place as the father, Oduduwa. I appreciate him, it's beyond fascination.

So much potential that is being overlooked. Many countries in Latin America and some communities in USA practice the Yoruba religion and take it more serious than us sef.

he, Orunmila is Oduduwa and obatala. Different names same entity. Orunmila is the name when he has ascended to the throne, Oduduwa is the name when he falls down to earth from heaven aka fallen from the throne and Obatala is the name when he is on the throne
