Yesterday, I led a 104-member strong delegation of Akwa Ibom stakeholders, alongside the Senate President, Distinguished Godswill Akpabio, GCON, on a historic courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock. This bipartisan gathering, which included political, traditional, and community leaders across party lines, demonstrated our unity and shared vision for the development of Akwa Ibom State.

During the visit, I expressed our gratitude to the President for his and presented three critical requests:
a. Ecological Disaster Mitigation: Urgent federal intervention to address devastating ecological challenges across Akwa Ibom, including a refund of billions spent on disaster management.

b. Ibom Deep Seaport: Federal backing to fast-track this game-changing project for jobs, trade, and economic growth.

c. Arise Resorts & Road Projects: An invitation for the President to commission these transformative projects in May 2025, turning erosion-ravaged areas into world-class destinations.

These initiatives are key to driving economic growth and improving the lives of our people. I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advance for granting these requests, as they are crucial to the development of Akwa Ibom State.

I am deeply thankful to the Senate President for his kind words and for acknowledging the unity we have fostered in Akwa Ibom. This unity is the foundation of our progress.

Special thanks to the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel, CON, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth and women representatives, and all who ed this historic visit. Together, we are building a brighter future for Akwa Ibom.

I think 3 things will save Mr Akpabio.

1. The Supreme Court judgement on Rivers State came just as Ms Akpoti's allegations hit the media.

The judgement and reactions to it is taking so much of the media space that Mrs Akpoti's allegations would have taken. Mrs Akpoti's allegations are fizzling out in the media.

It is mostly young women on social media that are still pushing the Senator's matter. Most men are more interested in the Rivers matter.

2. Most male Senators probably don't see much of a big deal in the sexual allegations made against Mr Akpabio. I suspect many of them are into that sort of behaviour anyway, so they are not likely to go after Mr Akpabio for this reason.

3. Mrs Akpoti's overreaction to the decision to reallocate her seat will have robbed her of amongst most Senators. Many of them will turn their nose up at the idea of removing Mr Akpabio because of her.

Nigeria is on the right track with Tinubu. All sensible economists and even international agencies have all stated that our economy is now looking good and the tough times are over. So, what demystification are you crying about? So we are now celebrating 30% in a Southern State from a Southern President. With the noise that Akpabio makes, one would think he delivered his State to the APC. Alas, he was beaten black and blue by Atiku. Atiku won Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom but our so-called Southern candidate can only manage to win Rivers in the entire Southsouth, 4 out of 6 states in the Southwest and none at all in the Southeast. The North made Tinubu President.

Again, Akpabio is now the incumbent Senate President unlike in 2023 when he had no office or Federal Power. The People of Akwa Ibom are not interested in losing the Senate Presidency. They will vote massively for APC.
