If nafdac where proactive I’m not sure there would be fake drugs... original drugs are expensive people resort to use fake drugs because they can’t afford the original one... nafdac should fix that first!

who resorts to fake drugs?

is it the consumers or these onitsha producers?

You should rather refer to it as Onitsha Affordable Drugs Market.
If the government is irresponsible they shouldn't hold down fellow irresponsible people.
Cost of ordinary malaria drugs are off the hook while people take solace in the so called fake drugs to sustain their lives

Why closing a whole market?
This are market where they have to clothing section, building materials section, cosmetic section, foodstuffs station etc. Its a big market...

You can't close down the whole market instead close the affected section of the market.

"The lawmakers, who ed the resolution during the plenary session on Tuesday, said the closure of the market had put the livelihood of at least 10,000 traders, apprentices, and their dependants in danger.".. and how many people have lost their lives due to fake drugs? and how many people would lose theirs when they reopen?

What do u mean by drug market?
I learnt the same thing happened in aba. They closed the Ariarria international market.

Please note that the drug section is just 3 lines of shops..
While we have over 100 lines of shops selling other things that don't relate to drug.

Kudos to lawmakers for giving such order.

Where were the lawmakers when such criminal practice were taking place under their roof?

Are they the one bank rolling those criminals? They should allowed the NAFDAC fight this war successfully. More than 200M Nigerians are at risks now.
Leviticuscreed: 9:57am On Feb 26
Unless everybody there is selling fake drugs else nafdac should investigate and arrest the culprits. The others should be allowed to conduct their business.

When an illiterate speaks, he lays bay his ignorance for the whole world to see!

So because "original" drugs are expensive, people should start selling and buying fakes

The standard organisation of Nigeria (SON) should also be active like NAFDAC.

Nigerians have been complaining about Oraimo fake substandard power banks flooding the market. Even their latest Power banks also swell like garri soaked inside water.

Let the market be closed permanently.

It's totally wrong to shut down an entire market for the crimes of others - even if they are in the majority.

Good people cannot be paying for the crimes of evil people. Doing so defeats the essence of goodness.

Pick out the evil folks and deal with them ruthlessly.
just here yourself out

How are they innocent everyone of them know what was going on and they refused to notify the appropriate authorities.

That being said they are crime partners for not being bold enough to rat the drug lords out.

Please don't open that market. Igbo medicine dealers are psychopaths. They kill and maim with fake drugs just to make profit and on Sunday, you see them leaking communion in mass with hands held together in a pseudo sombre mood.

My class rep in university, used to trade in that same market and when I told him about how St Dora Akunyili dealt with the drug mafia, Marcel Anakwe dem, the guy was surprised how I knew the backstory.

The people are devils in human form. Imagine buying white powder, concealed in capsules and branded as antibiotics for your ailing daughter..

That abyss of darkness and evil remains closed until the entire place is sanitized and rid of criminals. Nobody cares about whatever you fools do to yourselves in that enclave - you can lock up yourselves every Monday or for 365 days, you can continue to hail criminal ipob who are busy killing and maiming you as they like, etc, - but we will not allow you to kill the rest of us with your crazy penchant for money through illicit means!
