Like It's not brain surgery.

Move this to summer and it improves the quality of the players, quality of the tournament, appeal of the tournament.

"Like how are you a major tournament if other tournaments refuse to stop for you?
Don't they stop for other continental tournaments?"

Unbeknownst to the person that actually it's the other way round every single other tournament stops for domestic football to conclude first.

But father Africa, playing a game invented by the white man, is too big to stop for the white man.

It can’t be moved to summer, CAF has tried it and it didn’t work. Know this and know peace after all African players are not good enough in the eyes of European coaches so why are they always complaining if they can get better players elsewhere. Do African players beg to be recruited by European coaches Abi which kind wahala be this or will football suddenly stop being played in Africa if African players don’t play in Europe? As long as there’s quality in Africa we will continue to see players from the continent in Europe no matter what time Afcon is played.

if the leagues can't be switched into regions then billionaires from southern Nigeria can create clubs and work the clubs to the NPFL and let private southern Nigerian clubs be dominant in the NPFL...

there are 7 clubs from London in the EPL.
there are 5 clubs from Madrid in La Liga

this can motivate billionaires or investment companies from other regions to invest in creating their own football clubs and lead to the indirect privatization of the league..

What I believe is that with time, the private sector will overtake the unitary system. For now, the unitary (FG), holds the cash and control.

Later the private sector will know their power. Africa will also know their power. Emir Sanusi said one thing before, is the amount of market we have here. It is just empowerment. Same with our football.

The other regions have untapped wealth. I VeryDarkMan showing a place in the middle belt that bandits attack, with tin mixed with sand on their ground. When the North/middle belt harness their wealth, they will also have billionaires to pump into football/sports.

Finally, what stops us from having a private league or leagues?

It is just myopia that makes people not see our potential.

I’m not going to lie, if I was a coach of a major european team and have to lose my key players during the pivotal time of the season in a major league, African players will be 2nd or 3rd priorities to sign. Also, knowing fergie and his hot temper, he avoided African players due to this exact reason.

Don't sign Salah, Mane, Osimhen and Ademola Lookman. grin

In life, whoever has the leverage has the power and that’s one of the saddest thing of life. Unfortunately, the European clubs has more leverage than our African players when means that, we have to unfortunately play to their tune or probably be blacklisted. Aside of fergie, I’m pretty certain that other big clubs placed African players on 2nd and 3rd priorities due to this exact reason but they can not openly it it

I wonder who placed Drogba and Yaya Toure as 2nd and 3rd priorities.

Ferguson bought Djemba Djemba and Quinton Fortune too.
I know, it’s common knowledge that VanGaal doesn’t like South Americans but he still signed a few of them

Get your facts right big man.

In seven years, Park never dared leave United mid season except in one tournament. The 2011 Cup where he retired internationally.

Kagawa didn't even try it.

And what other reason would Fergie not buy Africans? He signed blacks like confetti so it's not racism.
I hope you know some people think Africans are all energy/power with little or no technical ability? Maybe he falls into that group you never can tell

Lol. You're trying so hard abeg. It Is independent of this context. Henry, Wright, Sturridge, Micah, and many other European journalists have all proven this. They all agree Jamie said rubbish. No need to beat around the bush joor.

Proven what? What did they prove?

I understand the sentiment though. We are all Africans and we love the AFCON so naturally we our own. However, you and I know the honest truth. No football fan in his right mental state will think that Afcon and Euros are equal in of quality.
JohnBullMySon: 2:56am On Feb 26

No, the issue I have with Jamie is he said AFCON is not a major tournament. That is categorically false.

As for AFCON not being a major factor in B’dor voting, that is a separate issue in of itself. I agree that winning the Euros will have more sway than the AFCON all else being equal but that was not what Jamie said.

Let’s just focus on what was said. If he wanted to add context to his statement, he should have done so.
Then you didn't listen to Jamie cause he never even mentioned AFCON. He said he thinks Salah is finding the Balon d'or diffcult because he doesn't play for a team in a major event like the Euros.

Middle belt maybe but Northern Nigeria can never be profitable..

the bri:tish could not make northern Nigeria profitable, is it un-educated and ter:rorists loving northern nigerians that will now make it profitable.

north has been un-profitable that's why the Br:itish ed north and south Nigeria together in 1914 because the north always had deficit balance of trade.

if the private sector controls things then it will lead to inflation like we are experiencing right now.. that was why I mentioned the expensive school built by foreigners..

there are people in Nigeria who want to make sure Nigerians cannot afford to buy anything by increasing the prices of basic things that we even produce here in Nigeria and this happens with the help of Nigerian politicians..

Its good that you have a positive outlook..

But the corrupt elites can never ever fade away because they are funded by whyte people.

You can say that for other parts of Africa but for west Africa and other black majority countries in Africa it is terrorism, wars, inflation that you will see in west Africa.

Since Nigeria has a weak currency then building our leagues is a pipe dream unless FG or a private firm can give the league winners the naira equivalent $20m and others get compensated between $1m and $10m based on their final league position then another compensation before the start of a new season.

West Africa is built to self destruct.
Black man has no agency. The white man is his god!

I agree with you on all.

Victor Osimhen should have been wiser here. He should have sat it out. Several of Mourinho's best players were basically blacks from Drogba to Michael Essien to Mikel Obi and much more.

zicky:
Read galatasaray have accused Jose Mourinho of racism after he use the phrase 'jumping up and down like monkeys' to discribe the galatasaray bench after their goalless draw yesterday.
Now one of the first to react to this accusation is our own Victor Osimhen.
My Take: Osimhen should rest on this, he shouldn't be used for Gala and Fener dirty fight.
JM is the last person you will accuse of racism.

Mourinho said monkeys alright but the Gala bench is predominantly whites so it is obvious he never came from a racial angle. He came from the antics angle.

I am actually surprised Osimhen had to in on the racism nonsense. He should let Gala deal with whatever issues they have with Mourinho. This is obviously fueled by their bitter rivalry with Fenerbahce. Osimhen should know better on this.

Implying that Mourinho is racist is like saying Messi or C.Ronaldo is crap. That is how far removed both realities are from each other.

TheGoodJoe:

The term is racist. Portuguese and Spaniards need to learn that people are not as tolerating as it is in their countries. Same for South Americans.

Mourinho likely didn't mean it in a racist way but in today's climate, he can't use such term "monkeys".

Carragher is wrong.

You allow a white man decide what is big and what is not big. The problem is your perception.

The Afcon is certainly big enough to even influence FIFA The Best which is the bigger award. Ballon D'or is organised by who again? football based in in Europe so the bias is clear.

TheLoneCitizen:
By the way, Caraggher was right.

AFCON is still not a big enough tournament to decide the Ballon d'Or.

Without Drogba, Chelsea won't smell their first UCL in 2012.

These top quality stars played in the Afcon back in the 2000s and 2010s and some are telling me those Afcon editions were not top quality to add to a player's rating globally? Funny takes.

The thing is about racial tone. It is normal for the Portuguese, Spaniards and South Americans.

Bernardo posting a racial toned meme to Benjamin Mendy. They are friends. Bernardo Silva can never be racial to Mendy. However, the reception by the public was loud. He was slammed.

Suarez is definitely not a racist. He was team mates with the likes of Kolo Toure, Sturridge and Sterling. But, calling Evra NEGRITO (Ni88a) had a repulsive reception.

I think Romeu had a similar issue. They are not racists but coming from a different culture where blacks are not responsive to this issue, they have to adjust their tones.

not true.. lets not digress this thread but I have to respond to this quote..

a section of northern Nigerians attack and kill southern Nigerian farmers so that they can sell foods grown in some northern states at a high price to southern Nigerians and control southern Nigeria's ability to feed itself..

competition will never bring the cost down... because some people in Nigeria are literally killing and murdering their competitors so that the prices of things remain very high..
