Lol do you think the current successes of our military in the north is not to prepare the ground for this?
U seem unaware of the times and the era we are in...
@BAT is a very vicious leader whose eye is always on the goal..once it brings economically beneficial results.
Anyone standing in D way of progress of the north...in extension Nigeria will likely go. At least till 2027...the next election
Are you damn serious or are you being naive?

Military can never successfully protect a pipeline that terrorists are determined to blow up. Pipeline that will transverse 100s of km inside the bush. Prepared indeed
Let the north forge their progress with their own resources and let the SS and SE not wake up one day to the fact that the gas in their land are being evacuate to Arab countries

Half ke, half is 50%, some are saying it is 80%-90%. But all of you are wrong, imo has 100% Nigeria's gas reserves. Go and check ipob bureau of statistics report very well, and then come back and edit your post.

You can blow up a gas pipeline for terrorism purpose

It's for monetary gains that you can't blow up a gas pipeline

The terrorists that have been blowing up power stations in the north don't do it for monetary purposes
even for terrorism you can't blow up a gas pipeline cause like I said fire 🔥...if you try it it will be a very short carear gas travels fast once exposed.....unless the terrorist is prepared to lose his life in a painful fiery 🔥 end.

Oga there is something called suicide bombing and it is the ultimate goal of terrorists who believe in 72 virgins. There is also called remote detonation. I'd blowing up a pipeline will cause a massive disaster, that will.be their target. That's the same reason nigeria cannot think of anything nuclear power.

Copy a d paste.

How about Nigeria use this critical factor of production to massively industrialise and ezport finished products to Europe?

Even if you must sell must you exhange thw precious gas for a currency like euro and dollar not backed by any value....if a trade by barter is done in critical infrastructure feom the beneficaries...the euros go straight to the politicians who by the way put tinubu there...

I dont know which is more sad your poor appraisal or the deal itself

So projects like this shouldn't be done because of your ill thinking right?

Nigeria has signed a pipeline deal which would transport billions of cubic metres of gas 4,128 kilometres (2,565 miles) from Nigeria in West Africa through Niger and on to Algeria.

Officials from the three countries on Tuesday signed the deal in Algiers, Algeria’s capital, aimed at accelerating the development of a vast natural gas pipeline toward Europe.

The Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) deal would also see the gas pumped through the undersea Mediterranean pipeline, Transmed to Italy, or loaded onto liquefied natural gas tankers for export.

The contracts centred on “an update of the feasibility study” and other issues, including non-disclosure agreements among their state energy companies.

The feasibility update will lay out the “required means for accelerating the development of this major project in a timely manner and at competitive costs,” Algerian Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab said.

While no update was given for the pipeline’s cost, which was estimated at launch at $10 billion, the project has been given new urgency by a surge in gas demand worldwide and soaring prices sparked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022

It's a very significant move here for the gas industry though. But with Trump's moves and what Zelensky of Ukraine said two or three days ago about a potential plan to let go of parts of Ukrainian lands to Russia in exchange for peace, the global crude oil price will definitely drop this year and Russian gas would potentially sell again to a wider European market if the EU choses to let in more Russian gas.

For one state to possess 50% of its country's resources is a pretty big deal. I'm not even talking about the South-East as a region, just Imo state.

Stop saying 50%, it is 100%, recheck the data from ipob bureau.. 100%.

you don't seem to understand blowing up a gas pipeline is not beans....you will need more than what you will carry in a vest.....outside of heavy explosives you will need 2 to 3 people to set it and probably 3 more guys to act as defense against security forces....outside of that you will need another set of people as overwatch that will come back and tell you how the job went cause let's face it the first 6 guys are not coming back......so unless you as bandit leader are prepared to sacrifice 6 people at once with more at risk of getting caught just so you can run a job that won't bring any money for you and turn you into more of a wanted man across three countries then sure by all means go blow up a pipeline.....

Hope you're not thinking Biafra gas will be sold through this pipeline? Get the gas from SW or North

I can't be more proud this project is far from being a dream into becoming realistic. Despite obvious political tensions with Niger Republic, I was quite optimistic it would sail through. A great piece of news to us as it will spectacularly bolster the economic value of the oil and gas ecosystem, bearing in mind that only recently, Portugal has indicated interests in buying more gas from Nigeria. Nigeria becomes an emerging market to Europe. I am glad Gen Tchiani did not let his ego get in the way by allowing common sense prevailed. This speaks to the fact that Nigeria being the giant of Africa is not mere a slogan but a testament of Nigeria 's capacity and her spirit of tenacity. Nigeria is like a mother cloud hovering over the continent of Africa.
That being said, I'm firmly in consonance with the declaration of President Tinubu that no unconstitutional leadership will be tolerated by ECOWAS on the continent. I therefore urge the respective military juntas in West Africa, as rapidly as possible to unveil a transition plan and inaugurate a transition committee to return their countries back to democratic government in the shortest possible time.

PS; This project is different from the Nigeria-Morrocco pipeline project. This one terminates in Algeria while the later terminates in Europe.

No matter how Yorubas launder the incompetent Tinubu, all indices of development are nose diving.
