Hello Guys,

How are you all doing today? please I need some advise on my Canada visa situation. I have been refuse a visa into Canada twice before, the last being January 2025. Currently my wife is granted a Study permit and currently doing her MBA in Canada, she travelled January 2025. Now the agent that h3lp me to submit her visa advised that I shouldn't put my application yet and that I submit my children application first. Then I can submit my own afterward(once my children visa is granted) which is a wonderful plan, however he submit a visitor visa application for them.
Whilst everybody is telling that the visitor visa, she submitted for children was wrong and he should submitted a study permit for them because it could take up to six months to get response from IRCC. hence I can't wait that long! because every month I wait bill is racking up on my neck in canada and nigeria. This has mental affected my wife and myself.
Also I was told that travelling agent misinformed us and that I should have submitted all the application together with my children because there is no waiting time to reapply after a refusal. I can show a substantial amount as a POF in my .
Please I need an advise what should I do? because am thinking to withdrawing the visitor application for my children and resubmitting everything all at once.
Thanks.

It's shameful calling yourselves adults especially with kids. Your wife is currently an MBA student in Canada, and she couldn't do the travel processes of your kids herself? Or even you couldn't do it, at your age?

An agent that has never stepped his foot on any foreign soil, in his life, is the one you relied on? People like you will be the ones to scream "I'm educated bla bla bla" when you are intimidating people below you.

Shameful!

@poster, You have done well. Na man you be, i understand you clearly. Alot of funds gone and all the mental stress that comes with it. I can advice you to do this, kindly , do not withdraw that ongoing application. Please await the outcome, however, what were reasons for your denial? You did not tell us that.

I will be waiting to read them, betterstill, you can shift these post to the Canada Group too. Goodevening

Thanks for the response, donr worry i have rhick skin for this type of trolls and nor bothered. Anyways the reason for the denial is insufficient funding and I applied for a conference visitor visa, but now my situation has changed because am now eligible for SOWP. The reason why am contemplating to withdrawal the application is long response time for visitor visa ite could take up to 6 months before we get response. Hence I can't wait that long because I have bills racking up in Canada (my wife accommodation and living expecting) and Nigeria (my children sch fees and living expenses) is taking a toll on my finances.
So am thinking to withdrawal the application and apply all together, I can should a funds of up 70k CAD for myself, 3 kids and the remaining of my wife sch fees of 16k CAD and travelling expenses. Am just afraid that my 2 prior rejection will not impact the new application.

As bolded, reason i said, leave the ongoing application.

All the same, your situation isn't so bad. You have your spouse in Canada already, so that is a banker. The only thing you can do now is to be patient and await the outcome of the ongoing. This is what i think is best, await the outcome and know your next plan.

Prolly, another person can give you a technical advise.

Goodluck.

Hello bro,
I saw your email request, but unfortunately I do not understand how Nairaland email works. Let me ask you: What are your children's ages? If they are of school age, please withdraw the application and apply for student permits for them. When I applied for my wife and children, my open work spousal permit and my children's visitor visas. The officer denied the visitor visa's applications but approved my wife's open work permit application. His reason for refusing them was that they are of school age and that they should apply for a study permit.

Immediately, I applied for the correct visa category for them, but within two weeks, they were all refused again. This has been an emotional trauma for me and my wife. How can she leave three kids in Nigeria? Please, my advice is to withdraw the application and apply for study permits for them.

If you need any assistance, others can help you in the SOWP Canada thread. Guys have been very helpful there.

Thanks for the advise, their age is 13yrs, 9 yrs and 5 yrs. So I know they are all eligible for study permit, and am also eligible for SOWP. The waiting time for visitor visa is my main concern, the response time could take up six month and I can't wait that long. Because of the emotional and financial stress that is given my family is much.

All are eligible for study permit. Here is my advice: withdraw the visitors visa application and apply for study permit for the children and SOWP for yourself, about your concern about the previous refusals affecting your next application, you have nothing to worry about, each application is treated on its own merit, but ensure the personal information you will be providing is consistent with the previous application.

Thanks for the update. I appreciate it a lot; yes, I have cancelled the application. Hence, I am in the process of submitting a strong and consistent study permit application for them whilst I apply for SOWP and explaining and adding documents for my two previous disapprovers. Also, if anybody knows how to calculate the required funds for IRCC, for a family of 5, it's $43,500, my wife's outstanding tuition fees are $15,500, and flight fees for four people on one way is $7000 CAD and medical insurance is $1600 for a year. Will $70,000 as POF suffice??
Thanks.

You have a 13 year old child, but in your 2016 thread you had a Black American girlfriend that you planned on ing in the US. If you had gotten married the same year 2016 your first child would have been less than 13. If you had a child prior to marriage then, would you have abandoned an innocent child alone in Nigeria to live with a Black American girlfriend in 2016?

I only hope what you plan to accomplish

Please, my family's SOWP and minor study permit application was refused based on insufficient funds. We provided 18k POF. Please is 18k POF sufficient for the two applications? I want to appeal for reconsideration but I don't know if the funds are okay.
Note: I am working in a high-skilled TEER 1 job and I provided my employment documents and payslips but their application was still refused.

Check this link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-.html.

For a family of 2 you will need a minimum of $25,600 CAD. Also you will consider flight fee and other miscellaneous so to be safe present a pof of $35,000 CAD. The higher the better
