Fed nears QT crossroads as 'excess liquidity' evaporates
A lot of you have lost 50 to 80% of whatever you invested in crypto since 2023, especially coins that are below top 10.
Why? You didn't pay attention to BTC dominance and you don't know the difference between BTC dominance Season in a bull run and Altcoin Season in a bull run.
Neither do you fully understand the 4 year cycle or even the meaning and effect of quantitative easing and quantitative tightening in crypto.
Anyway, today, I just read from a reliable source that QT will stop in June. And what does that mean? It means BTC dominance will also stop in June, 2025 (for altseason to start) and when this happens, a few weeks later, QE (quantitative easing) will start.
QT stoping stops BTC dominance.
QE starting starts Altseason.
See the image below to see their projection of when QT will stop and I believe them, but it might come earlier.
Does this mean from now till June, altcoins won't pump? Of course, they will, but whenever BTC sneezes and loses 10-12% in a day, all the alt's profits will be lost, including some percentage of your main capital because it's not yet its season to fully shine.
This is why you must take profits whenever your alts pump because by June, you'll lose all the profits (in an unexpected capitulation) before the main altseason starts and by then, you're already frustrated and have given up on crypto while labelling it a scam. https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/fed-nears-qt-crossroads-excess-liquidity-evaporates-mcgeever-2025-02-07/

I’ve list more than 60% of my total investment in crypto at the moment but I’m not bothered cos I know very well i will regain all losses in multiple folds if and when alt season kicks off. I’m talking more than 10m naira in loss here.

Surely, you will, but knowing about the 4 year cycle, BTC dom, QE/QT would've helped you be in profit by now by sticking with BTC and top 10 only till QE starts.

I’m just hearing about QE/QT for the first time but yes I realized sticking with BTC and other top project would have been better off instead of buy alts too early.
Meanwhile, can you shed more lights on QE QT? I’m going to read more on it.

In Crypto, what is QE and QT in relation to BTC and other coins. Explain in detail as if I'm a 6 year old.
Answer:
Alright, imagine you have a magic money tap in a big garden where all the kids play. Now, if you turn on this magic tap, money flows out. If you turn it off, the flow stops.
This is a lot like what happens with "QE" (Quantitative Easing) and "QT" (Quantitative Tightening) in the world of money. Here’s how it works:
QE (Quantitative Easing) – Turning on the Magic Money Tap
When there’s QE, it’s like turning on that magic tap and letting a lot of money flow into the garden. In real life, it means the government or central bank (like a big boss of money) is making more money available for everyone to use. They do this to help people buy more things and keep the economy happy.
In the crypto world, when there's more money flowing around (like through QE), people often feel richer and buy more Bitcoin (BTC) or other coins. This can make the prices of BTC and other coins go up because lots of people want to buy them with the new money they have.
QT (Quantitative Tightening) – Turning off the Magic Money Tap
Now, QT is like when the magic money tap gets turned off. This means the government or central bank is making it harder for people to get money. They do this if they think there’s too much money flowing around, which might make things too expensive (like when all toys at the store get way more costly because everyone has so much money to spend).
When QT happens, people have less money to spend, and they might sell some of their BTC or other coins to get money back. This can cause the prices of these coins to go down because fewer people are buying them.
How QE and QT Affect BTC and Other Coins
So, when QE happens (more money flow), people often buy more BTC and other coins, which pushes prices up. But when QT happens (less money flow), people often buy less or sell, which can push prices down.
In short:
QE = Money flows in, prices might go up.
QT = Money flows out, prices might go down.
Just like a magic tap!

So basically we are in QT cycle at the moment, I guess?
