You don't seem to understand that Nigeria was colonised
British used GUN and BULLET to colonise Nigeria.
It's not a discussion! It was BY FORCE.
FORCE the creation of the country.
FORCE the initial creation of the regions
-
Then after independence, our own black Nigerian military continued with FORCE, GUN AND BULLET.
To force the creation of more states and BEAT THE PEOPLE TO COMPLY.
Everything in Nigeria is FORCE.
That's why this democracy and Tinubu now, is behaving with FORCE and BEAT.
No discussion. BEAT.

The post claims Edo and Delta states were carved out from the Bendel state in 1991. But failed to state when Bendel state was created?

That is a very serious lapse in my opinion.

To reduce the great Benin Kingdom to being birthed in 1991 because there is no mention of when it was created.

Anyone learning history can be misled by this error.

Sometimes, it is better not to even school people than do and make a grave error.

You are right.

It should have been a total chronicle of state creation in Nigeria.
Amah70: 10:44am On Feb 07
Sani Abacha who created the last states took what should have been the sixth state for the southeast - Njaba/Orlu state- to make the 7th state in his Northwest zone. That threw the southeast to political underrepresentation at the federal government level, denied the southeast commensurate federal allocations and federal government development projects.
In 2006 when the same Njaba state was about to be actualized, it was botched at the last minute.

Civilian government has never done anything good for this country. Nigeria progressed faster and better under military rule. The few things that are negative about military rule is the lack of human rights and the absolute corruption which I haven't seen any difference from the civilian regimes....

Third mainland bridge.....Ist mainland bridge and even 2nd mainland bridge in Lagos built by Military.

National Theater, National Airport MM1, National Stadium, Surulere, Most Federal Universities built by Military.

Lots of roads built by Military.

Nigeria 4 Refineries.....built by Military

Uncountable infrastructure built by Military...

It's a misplaced priority in trying to create new states by the national assembly. The question is, is that the problem of Nigeria? No matter how old these states are the new states won't solve the problem of corruption, injustice and inequality in the system. Nigeria is sick.

Rather they are avenues just to create political offices for some politicians where they too will be making their own money. It's well with Nigeria in Jesus mighty name.

If not for shamelessness, you should be looking at Kwara state that was created in 1967, asking what they have to show as a state since 58 years. You should be asking Lagos,?which apart from Kano, has a long history as a federal capital as far back as 1918, why it is not comparable with Johannesburg, Kigali, Rabat or even Abidjan. You should ask states created the same year as Anambra state the level of their development. Compare them and see. By the way if that same shame should permit you, let’s know your own state to compare the level of development with Anambra state.

The creation of the Benin Kingdom is not related in any way to that of Ẹdo state.

Ẹdo state has other tribes like Esan, Akoko Edo and Afemai who, in truth, are not under the Benin Kingdom despite the utmost respect they have for the Ọba (gha to kpere baba).

I fail to see the point you are making.

Instead, Abia state came out from old Imo state. Ebonyi state was created from Abia and Enugu states. That's why a sixth state for the southeast must be created from Imo and Anambra States or from the 12 Local Government Areas of Imo West Senatorial district - ANIM/Orlu/Njaba state proposal.

Unfortunately, the creation of several states in the country
Nigeria has being the causes of underdevelopement, bribery and corruptions systems in the country.
Going back into history, Obafemi Awolowo during the era of Western Region, which comprises of Ogun, Oyo, Oshun, Ondo, Ekiti, and the then Midwest Region which comprises of today's Edo and so,many other so called created States in then Midwest. So also in the entire Northern Region and Eastern Region were there no good and better Regional developments programmes then compared with multi created States Region with no good developments programmes despite the availability of monetary supply systems but the money being released to personal usage to the States so called s.
As a state governor with how many state Commissioners personal appointments, State's permanent secretaries, State's special advisers all being allocated with super monetary supply systems for their personal requirements usage and make money not available for State's Regional developments programs.
So requests for another 31 States creations for the country to become 67 States will become a dead bury a country Nigeria as the country's development programmes will become more dead and buried.
So for Nigeria 🇳🇬 to become available development Nation Nigeria should go back to Obafemi Awolowo's 6 Region creationism systems and not 71 States Regional systems.
Today India the largest populated country in the world 🌎 had only 6 Regions with some of the Regions have a population bigger than Nigeria 🇳🇬 a country over 200millions; addition each Region has only 2 hip ministerial appointments at their Federal government services.
So for the country Nigeria being the largest and most populated in Africa 🌍 should go back to 6 REGIONAL developments programmes as proposed by Obafemi Awolowo back in 1954 before Indipendence. Awolowo's proposalsthen were [ WESTERN REGION, MIDWEST REGION, NORTHERN REGION, MIDDLE BELT REGION, EASTERN REGION, and COR REGION (Calabar Ogoja Rivers) .
