Sorry, what exactly did you spend the 15k on? Is it for inspection or what exactly? I believe you should have settled remittance with the owner before ing the car

If you ignore Uber and Bolt and continue picking shitty fares on Indrive, what sense is there? The main culprit here is Indrive, they are the destructive element here. Uber and Bolt are simply trying to be at pair with them in other not to lose their market shares. The drivers too that don't have the mentality to ignore trips on Indrive are largely part of the problem.

But then again, looking at the unemployment rate and hunger out there, some of these drivers don't care. If it's 5k they take home a day after 10hrs of hard labour, most will not mind. App companies are using these to their own advantage. Take Indrive out of the equation and there might just be some respite. If there has to be any protest, it should have started from the root cause of the problem which is Indrive.
why can't they reduce their commission instead of always reducing fares?

LAGOS GOVT INTRODUCES ITS, SLAMS N50,000 FINE ON OVERSPEEDING MOTORISTS.

The Lagos State Government on Thursday announced the introduction of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) at four locations across the state. Additionally, the state government announced that, henceforth, drivers who overspeed will be fined N50,000, while red light offenders will be fined N20,000. For the Checkpoint Sites designed to detect overspeeding, one is located at Alapere, Ogudu Road, with a speed limit of 80km/h, while the other is installed at Nitel, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, with a speed limit of 60km/h.
On the other hand, the E-Police Sites for Traffic Violations are installed at Allen Avenue Road Junction and Nurudeen Olowopopo Road. These e-Police sites are designed to detect a wide range of traffic violations, including running red lights, non-compliance with lane discipline, illegal U-turns, and reverse driving on highways.

Hello everyone, I need your honest advice.

I’m 39, currently working as a manager at a private cleaning company (the company cleans banks etc), but the pay is bad—₦100K per month for a master’s holder. I work Monday till Saturday and I barely have any time for any other thing. The job is killing me. I’ve decided it’s time to do something for myself, and I’m looking at ing the ride-hailing business (Uber, Bolt, Indrive, Taxify) in Lagos.

I plan to buy a car in the ₦3M-₦4M range with money from friends and family. But before I take that step, I want to hear from you, the experts. If I were your brother, what would you honestly tell me?

-Is this a smart move?
-What kind of car should I go for in this budget?
-What are the biggest challenges I should expect?
-Can I make decent money, or is it just stress?

I respect your experience, so I want to hear the truth—good or bad. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I was receiving the same amount as yours when I was working for salary, but today, I make more than my salary in a week.
As long as you are the car owner, there's no way you won't have a NET of over 100k in a week. There's no way (speaking for Lagos).
My brother, this is 2025, 100k a month is a total bullcrap.
Take the money and get yourself a good car with 4plugs (2.4Ltr engine downward), and come and see the difference.
Anyone receiving less than 400k salary a month is not in my league.
This is not boasting, it is reality.
Get a car. Get your ass into the hustle and see what's there.

Much respect, boss.

Can you drive properly? Or this is your first rodeo.

Addition:
You will make way more money than your current salary. Like way more.. you can even afford to hire someone in your wage bracket at your former workplace.. .. grin

Don't rush to buy any car. Without a very sound car, you will be frustrated. Don't take this part lightly. A very sound car .That will serve at least 8 months before any Major repair. You have to do your due diligence.
If it means scouting for 3 months. Dont fall for agents that might dm you afterwards..

Can you reach out to family n friends to get you a car on rentals, I believe this will put you in a better ground state than starting out with loans.

I will prepare to launch out in April. The market should be really stable by then.

This is the best time to begin.
A small 2003 -2007, 1.4L- 1.8L motor would be perfect.
A smartphone with at least 8gb RAM.

Get all vehicle documents, all major apps (Uber, indriver and Bolt) and hit the road.

In 6months, you'd be geared up to either continue or quit.

Last month I only drove for 6 days in all.
Havent driven this month, but I still guide cool

P.S: I can't take any salary less than 1.5M monthly

Good luck sir.

100k for a monthly salary is rubbish. On a very good week here in Abuja I net that in 3 days.
What's most important is that you get yourself a very sound car. Take your time, and do your due diligence. This, my friend, cannot be emphasised enough. And when you go to inspect a car make certain you've got a scanner with you, even if it's elm with one of those free car scanning apps on playstore.
It's gonna take a while to make the kind of profits our oga at the top here grin make as you'd still have to learn by yourself what constitues a bad or good trip. Not matter what, you're still gonna make money from the get-go.
As far as the downside is concerned, for me, it's the vaginal cretins. Most of whom would almost always disrespect you. But when you you make in a week what most of them make in a month you go just laugh for their ugly and overly made-up faces.
With that said, still, do not be prejudiced against them as a handful of them can be so wonderful that you'd wish you were their man. It's happened to me a few times, but I don't mix business with pleasure. For now! cheesy
So my guy, get a sound car, valid car documentation, hit the road and start making decent money.

E get some questions wey person no suppose they ask.
Masters degree holder
N100k salary work
Has access to N3m in loans.

So u have access to N3m loan and u are doing 100k salary job with your masters degree?
Truth is, if u can't see the opportunity by yourself, if u are advised to do anything and it goes bad, u will blame the people that asked u to resign and start your own business. When u are ready to take your destiny in your own hands, u know what to do.
I make your monthly salary in 1 and half day doing ehailing in Lagos. I think this is all I need to say. Whether your car is good or only good for night work without AC or short trips because of over heating, u did still make way more than 100k a month.
Even if u buy goods worth N3m and sell physically, or online on Whatsapp, nairaland, jiji and Instagram, Facebook and Twitter u will make more than 100k weekly.
