I posted this earlier but was deleted by Nairaland though it violated no rule but because of deep-seated hate the forum have for Islam. If it were to be twisted thread against Islam/Muslim/the Shari'ah, the forum would gladly keep it and move it to front page. That's the hypocrisy
The call for the establishment of a Shari’ah or court in Yorubaland is not a new demand; rather, it is a legitimate right of Muslims, deeply rooted in both historical and constitutional grounds. No one has the authority to dictate for Muslims how they should practice their religion, and any opposition to Shari’ah within the Muslim community itself is either born out of ignorance, hypocrisy, or outright criminal intent.
Nigeria is a multi-religious country with a constitution that upholds freedom of religion (Section 38 of the Nigerian Constitution). Muslims have the right to practice their faith in accordance with Islamic teachings. Shari’ah is not a threat to anyone, it is a system of justice for Muslims who willingly submit to its rulings.
Historical Presence of Shari’ah in Yorubaland
Contrary to what some claim, Shari’ah is not foreign to Yorubaland. Before the colonial era, many Yoruba Muslim communities practiced Islamic law to settle disputes, particularly in personal and family matters such as marriage, inheritance, and business ethics.
The strongest opposition to Shari’ah courts often comes from fake Muslims and criminals who fear that Islamic justice will expose their corruption, fraud, and moral decay. Genuine Muslims who understand the role of Shari’ah would never oppose a system that enforces justice, morality, and ability before Allah. Those who claim to be Muslims yet fight against Islamic law should question their own faith and sincerity.
Shari’ah Is for Muslims, Not for Non-Muslims
It is important to clarify that Shari’ah courts are not meant to impose Islamic laws on non-Muslims. They exist to serve Muslims who willingly submit to them in personal and civil matters.
The demand for a Shari’ah or court in Yorubaland is a non-negotiable right for Muslims. It is part of religious freedom, historical practice, and a means of ensuring justice among Muslims. Anyone who fights against this right, especially from within the Muslim community, should deeply reflect on their faith and intentions. True Muslims know that Shari’ah is justice, and justice is the foundation of any righteous society.
If this offends you, feel free to insult, abuse, or curse me all you want, it won’t change the fact that this is my right as a Muslim, and I will continue to advocate for it unapologetically. Your insults won’t shake my belief, nor will they silence me.

Gaslighting will not work.
Yorubas are not divided on religious lines and we have both Muslims and Christians in every family so this will only cause enmity and attempt to subjugate.

You guys are so so intolerant, yet you want sane people to tolerate your excesses! You will not allow traditionalists to celebrate in Osun and Kwara but you want to establish sharia courts in Yoruba land? If you have issues with non Muslims, how do you resolve it? If your wife, a Muslim, converts to a different religion, I'm sure your law allows you to prosecute her in your courts against her wish! Why not just allow the regular courts of the land to handle legal cases? Let sleeping dogs lie

Those religious intolerant (Yoruba) who called themselves idol worshipers would say, 'Allow Ise'se in Ilorin" If you know you are an idol worshiper and you have the freedom to religion in Nigeria's constitution, why not go to court as Muslims went to court when the issue of hijab was banned in South West. You have been shouting about Ilorin but your forefathers could not do anything about it.
You have been saying Sharia is not allowed in Yoruba land, but you people said more than that about hijab when the government banned the hijab in government school; the rest iwas history now. Likewise, the Sharia will be history too.
You people will say Yoruba are not divided; who told you that Yoruba is not divided? Yoruba are divided along religious intolerance. You people are just saying it on social media, but it was another thing in reality.
Some nuisance from Yoruba idol worshipers said they would fight it. But you people can't fight ordinary Fulani from Ilorin that grap your forefathers land and till today your ancestors can't do nothing about it and you want to fight the implementation of sharia , if you forgot the history, go and ask your father what happened when OPC went to Ilorin to install the king in Ilorin during Obasanjo regime, go and ask your father or your forefathers the story if you don't know.
Shari'a has come to stay in Yorubaland and nobody can stop it. Let's continue watching and see.

All these gaslighting won't work,
What makes the whole charade hilarious is that no Muslim can point to the North as an example for the benefit of sharia, like not even one state can be used a beacon of the joys of Islamic law?
Have you ever looked at Northerners and thought "these are people that get justice" ? I think the reverse is the case!

It is important to clarify that Shari’ah courts are not meant to impose Islamic laws on non-Muslims. They exist to serve Muslims who willingly submit to them in personal and civil matters.
If that's the case why do you need the government? You're making Sharia sound no different from Arbitration. If you guys were smart you could just get Sharia through the back door. Just as the state to make arbitration decisions legally enforceable if they aren't already. I doubt you guys will since this isn't strictly about personal and civil matters. Nobody trust you guys because you're not honest about your intentions.
