I need to know if there's any hope of studying abroad with a second class lower qualifications. My parents intend to send me abroad to further my studies but I'm worried now because of my qualification. They don't know yet and I still don't know how to inform them.

I just want to know if there's any hope

It is very important you know that, The earliest your parents know the quicker for an alternative.

But then yes it's possible. It's more easier after a post graduate certification

You can study abroad with ordinary school certificates. You'd start from where you are.

YES of course! Just so you're aware, Western schools don't really have much trust in Nigeria's educational system hence the reason they give alternative qualification opportunities (Essay writing and several other exams).

Any fool could as well have graduated with a 1st class in Nigeria... Just have the money to settle your lecturers and professors.

Yes you can. Education abroad is not the same way we discriminate here. As long as you are able to convert and follow the structure of that country, you are good. Don't let your life be defined by the Nigerian construct of class. I salute all those who graduated with a 1st class but in the real world, no one will your class. We want to see what you can do. Even if you graduate with a abroad, don't let it define you. There's more to life than academic grades.

5 types of intelligence - academic is just one of them. I will not tell you not to study well but don't confine yourself to academics alone. Nigerians think only when you speak and write English well that you are intelligent. Then they see a Chinese and they are wondering how he can build bridges but they have forgotten English is just a language, a means of expression. It doesn't mean he who speaks Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba language is dumb and will not do well in life.

Enough preaching from me. sorry for diverting from your topic but I wrote this because it has held back many people from progressing home and abroad. They think what is from abroad is the best and what they have at home is the worst cry

Yes, it is very possible. Most schools abroad, especially in Europe, accept 2:2 for postgraduate issions

For a graduate of University of Ibadan to start asking this type shows how bad the Nigerian educational system has become

Ironical that the person who has that certificate just finished his tenure as Edo Governor.

That certificate belongs to the formal governor of Edo state Godwin N. Obaseki. Check the name.

yes but you may not be able to get ission into the best universities or the most competitive courses. however even the best foreign universities may waive that if 1) you are paying foreign fees or 2) you have valid work experience/other certifications.

trust me a lot of the Nigerians studying abroad were only itted because they are paying foreign fees which they need (especially in the Uk) to subsidize home students
