A lot of possibilities including intentional , DEI or TDS from the Helicopter pilot. Search for her name.

The helicopter route is their normal route, they should fly below 200 fit, they were flying 300 fit just before the collision, the radars usually have collision warning, in a situation like this, an experienced ATC should not allow both planes cross path so close. They always control altitude of flights to avoid collision, they didn't do that. They could have ask the helicopter to maintain an altitude of 150ft or less from the get go.

Like is said, both the helicopter and ATC made a mess out of this. The helicopter went up to 300 fit just before collision, ATC gave no warning of possible collision despite seeing everything on radar. Situations like this, they can also ask the helicopter to reduce speed just enough for the jet to . After all, they redirected the jet to land on that run way which is not the initial runway they were supposed to land on

Looks like the Republican Party isn’t that much against the idea of taxes funding other people’s children. They just have to be in certain communities. See how the language carefully excludes certain demographics? DEI for white Utah moms who get married at 17 and have 6 kids. None for those who they deem unworthy.

And with the outbreak of tuberculosis in Kansas, they’re still politicizing masks?

New DOT Memo Directs Funds To Communities With Higher ‘Marriage And Birth Rates’
The memo also said recipients of federal transportation funding must also cooperate with immigration enforcement, a hit to so-called sanctuary cities.
By
Sanjana Karanth
The Department of Transportation has released a memo ordering that programs ed or assisted by the agency prioritize funding projects for communities that have above-average marriage and birth rates.
Newly-confirmed Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy buried the oddly specific requirement by describing the Wednesday memo as focused on economic growth, rather than population growth, and echoed President Donald Trump’s criticism of programs to improve diversity, equity and inclusion.

“The American people deserve an efficient, safe and pro-growth transportation system based on sound decision-making, not political ideologies,” Duffy said of the memo, which was signed just hours before a military helicopter crashed into a enger plane near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, killing everyone on both aircraft and sending Duffy and other transportation officials scrambling.
According to the memo, programs and activities ed by the Transportation Department should prioritize projects that improve transportation for “families with young children” and “give preference to communities with marriage and birth rates higher than the national average.” This memo applies to DOT and DOT-ed grants, loans and contracts, including existing agreements.

States with both marriage and birth rates higher than the national average include Utah and South Dakota, according to 2022 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In those predominantly white states, cultural or religious norms may encourage marriage and family-building.

In addition to the language around marriage and birth rates, the memo also blocks recipients of DOT funding from implementing “mask mandates,” a reference to requirements transit agencies followed to limit the spread of infection during the height of COVID-19.
The memo also requires recipients to comply with federal immigration enforcement in order to receive funding — the latest effort by the istration to target undocumented immigrants, conduct mass arrests and deportations, and deny federal transportation funds to so-called sanctuary cities.

The next four years will change America forever. But HuffPost won't back down when it comes to providing free and impartial journalism.

I have avoided commenting on the crash because the more I read about the accident, the madder I get.

To find out that near misses have occurred multiple times in that sector, the FAA flagged it internally; and for whatever reason they failed to fix it.

Add this to the growing pile of evidence why the Fed civil service should be gutted and rebuilt.
Incoming overhaul in operations should have been done after the first 3 near-misses.
Instead, the incompetent f*cks who are religiously against RTO were receiving fat salaries in their pajamas and waiting for a tragedy to light a fire under their a$$.

The culture in the federal service needs to change, and especially at the DoD.
The frequency of accidents involving the military in the last year has been outrageous.
Here you have three pinocchios T-boning a jet during a training flight because I guess the helo's radar was faulty or they're all sharing one pair of eyes.

This accident was avoidable. There must be ability.

ATC takes blame 90% of the blame, helicopter pilot takes 10% of it.

ATC FTC radar shows imminent collision 30 seconds before the crash. ATC did not following any mandatory FAA guidelines to avoid it. The jet has priority over that airspace, the jet is not aware of the traffic (Heli), ATC did not give the Heli assertive commands to stay clear of the jet's flight path. Asking if the Heli has visual of the jet is not enough if he can clearly see they are about to collide.

From the situation, even if they did not collide it would have been a near miss.

First, a near miss should not be a thing.
It's preposterous that they seem to tolerate it.
All it takes is one mistake as we've just witnessed and all goes to sh*t.

Second, visuals should be enough to request a flight path update.
Helos can hover and are more maneuverable than a landing jet.

The jet did everything right.
The offending parties are the ATC and helo.
I see you're trying to pin it all, or at least most of the blame on the ATC.
I think they both share the blame. The ATC should of course end up in an Amazon fulfillment center.
But if the helo had taken a different course of action, more than 60 souls would have been saved and the ATC's error would not have been fatal.

I get that it's a helo and not a fighter jet. It'd have been easier to see a descending airliner from a fighter jet cockpit.
But I just find it hard to accept that both copilots on a training flight, more of a recertification flight, failed to see the jet. That's pilot error.
In fact, they were training to avoid this type of accident in the first place and they had more than 1000 flight hours between them.

It all goes back to the FAA and the airport's control tower higher-ups.
If you've had a near-miss on more than one occasion, why the f*ck is fixing that not a top priority?
Are we to expect more near misses in the future? Because apparently a solution does not exist. If it does, why are we waiting until after an accident to implement it?
They're going to can the ATC and his/her supervisor but the suits should have rectified the situation rather than play Russian roulette.
And I'm particularly miffed at the "career staff". The cunts that yell over everyone about the importance of "institutional memory" and other diatribe. Here's a situation when they should have put their superior knowledge and wealth of experience to good use but they couldn't be bothered.

Biden was increasing the workforce, but somehow the FAA couldn't fill up flight controller vacancies.
Should the US remove the citizenship requirement and establish a new visa class to import talent before they do what's right.
Tell you what, if they're operating the nuclear and bioresearch labs with the same skill they displayed here, America is f*cked.

The problem is that only ATC knew what was going on. Helos says they have Visuals of the jet; unfortunately, they were visuals of the wrong jet.

But if the helo had taken a different course of action, more than 60 souls would have been saved and the ATC's error would not have been fatal.
I am pinning almost all the blame on them because only they knew about the collision course and did nothing about it. The jet was kept out of the loop and was not aware of the traffic in their vicinity given the fact that the Jet has right of way and priority. The jet is supposed to hear communication between the helos and the ATC for situational awareness but that wasn't the case. That 3-way communication would have helped the jet to decide a go around at least since the ATC changed the runway they were supposed to land and the jet accepted even if they didn't have to accept.

LordAdam16:

They were training to avoid this type of accident in the first place and they had more than 1000 flight hours between them.
The pilot was asked if he saw a plane, he saw a plane but it was the wrong plane. I don't see how that is much of an error, where I am blaming the Helos pilot is that with was flying above the required altitude and even that is not enough, flying at the right altitude would have been a near miss if they had not collided.

There is always an altitude difference when 2 flights are close and potentially gonna cross the path. TCAS usually handles that above 1000ft, it was the duty of ATC to set or assert the altitude of the Helos which won't work in this situation. At best ordered the Helos to wait or go around for the Jet to as they saw from their Radar both planes would cross the path and also a warning.
My thoughts are the controller should have prevented the helicopter from crossing an active runway with traffic on finals

They took the FAA to court for doing diversity hiring. I think this is where all the blame game is coming from which is wrong on both sides. Trump should not be talking DEI from this tragedy but the left was the first to attack him from this tragedy and I suspect he was clapping back.

DEI is merit based. It ensures that employers are considering all qualified candidates regardless of their race, gender or disability status..

If they do not meet the employment requirements, they’re not considered. This stops Mr Jack from looking at your black name and tossing your file in the bin because he only wants to consider the qualified white candidates.

if they’re not made to consider every qualified person, they’ll only employ the white people. Centuries of slavery and colonialism should be enough pattern recognition to show you that they’ll never think you’re good enough unless the law forces them to look at your qualifications

You’ve been fed “DEI bad” and you ran with it thoughtlessly like a tree voting for the axe.

P.S chat box can summarize text from all sources online (including false information) and give it you in a summary. I hope you don’t use chat box to do your homework or studies.

According to BBC News, over 3,000 Nigerians living in the US without legal documents are at risk of deportation. These individuals are listed on the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) non-detained docket, with final orders of removal in place since November 2024.

Fox News, as cited by BBC, reports that Nigeria is the second-highest African country with citizens scheduled for deportation, following Somalia, with other countries such as Ghana and Senegal also being affected.

You could count on one hand the number of folks defending the ATC.
The ATC is a determined id**t.
Maybe it was his bad day, but he was bent on being a screwup and his career should be over.
But with the civil service protections, who knows?

The helo pilots though were the only competent folks in a position to prevent a catastrophe after the ATC screwed the pooch.
And they could have. I mean they should have.
Yes, it's a busy airspace. Yes, they focused on the wrong jet.
But I'm going to need a of Black Hawk pilots to confirm that they wouldn't have had visuals of the doomed jet prior to the collision.
It just doesn't seem likely to me.
These are elite US military pilots flying in restricted airspace.

Trump should not have brought up the DEI point in the briefing.
I expect Wiles to set him straight on that.

their ceiling is 200, crash happened at 300. It may be that they went up because they thought the plane flying away was the plane ATC was asking them if they had visuals on. ATC did not communicate to them the direction the plane was approaching from. they don't know if the plane is landing or taking off. they thought what they saw was what was asked. to them, the threat is no longer there.

The military should not be operating there. in fact, a commercial airport should not be there since there are serious air restrictions in that area.
ATC still is to blame for almost entirely.

There was a case of an ATC guiding a plane which almost crashed into a mountain.

Tennessee Senate es controversial immigration bill that some call unconstitutional

Kenley Hargett

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — In a 26-7 vote, state senators approved SB6002 Wednesday, which will create criminal penalties (Class E felony) for officials who adopt sanctuary policies. According to the bill’s text, officials can also be removed upon conviction.

In addition, the bill requires the Department of Public Safety to issue lawful permanent residents a temporary driver’s license instead of a standard license. The temporary license will reportedly be used to help determine voter eligibility for someone who presents a Tennessee driver’s license as identification.

State Sen. Todd Gardenhire (R-Chattanooga) was the only Republican to vote against the bill.

State Rep. Justin Jones (D-Nashville) spoke during the hearing. He said he believes the bill is unconstitutional and restricts lawmakers’ ability to represent their constituents.

“Now this is the only time we are going to have a Tennessee law that says if you vote in the affirmative, you will be charged with a felony,” said Jones.

Jones went on to compare the bill to 1689 English Bill of Rights, which he said was the British monarchy using legal measures to intimidate and punish legislators
