Lol, sorry bro, my bad. The data covers total financials from 2019 to 2024. I couldn't fit everything, so I summarized the key points. The metrics under 2024 are specific to that year, while the other columns provide a summary of the entire period.

For example, the 52% represents the compounded annual growth of EPS from 2019 to 2024. The MEAN is the average over this time frame, calculated similarly to summing all gross profit margins from 2019–2024 and dividing by total revenue over the same period. Max and Min represent the highest and lowest values within the six years. For instance, in 2024, 88.9% of revenue was spent on the cost of goods and services—the highest percentage in the period—so it appears under Max.

All the droop values for 2024 add up to 100% because they represent the portion of revenue allocated to each business level according to the income statement. I explained this before—I thought you had read my earlier post a few days ago. Thanks.

Okay.

Thanks for the breakdown.
Now i understand it.

My take.

From the table, we can see COS is too high and NP is too low.
Checking the sector, i noticed it is a general problem - Eterna, Cap Oil, Mrs, Conoil

Please after selling a stock on Morgan Captain, how do I move the money to available balance. I wanna buy a different stock
In Morgan, the fund settles immediately in your available balance.
Since you only see it in Net Balance, it means your is in DCS mode (Direct Cash Settlement).

Morgan to forward the DCS form to you, fill appropriate section and tick "NO" in the column where you're asked if you want Direct Cash Settlement.

We've discussed about this in countless times here.

Ask for more guidance from Morgan officer that attends to you via mail.

Total inventory rose to 152b from 74b, that is a 100% and which is 5X of net profit of 27.8b. That is worrisome.
Q4/24 eps shrink to 117k from 616k despite a 16% increase in revenue of 248b from 213.4b.
A meagre net profit of 416m from 248bb revenue - a 0.2% margin compared to 950m from 213b revenue prior year.

Culprits - Inflation

- finance cost of 9.96b from 4.57b prior year
- cost of 19.2b from 15.2b prior year
- Cost of sales rose to 226b to generate 248b compares to 188b to generate 213b revenue prior year.

A 0.2% net margin is not encouraging and means the company may fall into negative any moment. It has no room to absorb shocks or unforeseen circumstances.

The most disheartening about this report is that Total released a Q4/24 forecast of revenue 238b, actual is 248b which is more than the forecasted.
Net profit forecasted is 5.69b, actual is just 399m. A whooping 93% downside.
Forecasted eps of #16.7, actual is #1.17

From between N35-40 i'll start taking profit, I will leave the rest to see where the stock will peak. Multinational Unilever is "fairly priced" doing N2.77 EPS for FY. Our local champion Vitafoam is doing N2.21 EPS for Q1. We wait and see grin

No wonder it closed at #26.45 today. I took the leap of faith with you and now I'm 13% up. Thank you. grin

** What we are currently witnessing in market, the bearish period, is expected and typical of this period.......Since Unaudited results are trooping in.
** Punishment for disappointed results and pat-at-the-back or stabilized share price for the good results.
** Sometimes along the line, good ones may even share from the punishment of bad ones
** Overall, Mr. Market will not punish these stocks forever........but may bring it to a point where it could present bargain entry.
** Individual's investment philosophy and objectives will come into play here.....
** Patience, re-strategizing may be required in some instance to prevent loss of revenue.
** It is well.

** Rantings not well organized, just thinking out loud about current market situation. 😊 tongue

I don't think it's a problem on its own—this is their business model. It relies on high revenue volume to offset very low profit margins, with costs exceeding 94% of revenue. They also operate with heavy leverage, as liabilities are six times equity.

The interest margin appears low due to the high turnover, but as you mentioned, drop in revenue could create serious issues. Their strategy is high risk, high reward, and based on your observations, this seems to be a common approach with similar businesses.

Fantastic one from NNFM Q3 UFS

Massive improvement in both Operating Income and Selling and distribution expenses

EPS = ₦23.07 cool

Does anybody know why the distribution expenses dropped?

I dont think this is going to be sustainable. If it is just a one off then the result is not so good

Go ahead and place ur purchase order!! In as much as u did not apply for d money to be moved to ur bank !!
If the money is not seen as available balance, that means you are in direct cash settlement i.e your money will be credited to your bank T + 3 (day of sale + 3 working days) .Like Mcy said liase with Morgan to fill a form that will enable your money to be retained in your trading so instantly you can utilize it to trade .

Taking companies' forecasts seriously is suicidal. I have never seen any forecast in which the company projected a loss for itself.

There is uneven distribution of wealth in Nigeria, with a population of 200m, of this value just 7.3% are in the formal sector which is about 14,600,000 while a paltry of a little over 100k are involved in the Stock market. Imagine if a sizeable number of Nigerians are involved in the market, say in the millions, the market will grow as well as the contribution to the economy and there will be liquidity. In the US over 150m of Americans are in the market.

What is the source please? I'm hearing conflicting data every time

Professor Uche Uwaleke a professor of capital market studies said about 5 million.

SEC less than 5% of our adult population. Assuming we have 140 million adults in Nigeria, that is less than 7 million Nigerians

Petroleum marketing is actually a very low margin business. What kept these companies going are the side wuru wuru of import of substandard products ar inflated prices for NNPC, inflated subsidy payments, bridging charges, high artificial prices through the creation of scarcity, and the chain of black marketing petrol stations along interstate highways. All these sources of arbitrage have now been blocked, except the import one, which they are sustaining, by fire by force, with the collusion of their NNPC partners.

So, I expect that the fundamentals of companies like MRS, Total, Conoil and Eterna will not their current market prices going forwards unless they diversify.
