My application has not moved to " READY FOR ENROLLMENT " yet i.e the application hasn't been approved yet. It's been 2 weeks.

My child's renewal was approved in just 2 days. His is ready for enrollment already.

is not up to 1 week, but before it was approved, they requested a document from me, which I had to and within space of 2hrs, it was vetted.

For the documents= I used national population certificate ( used for travelling out of the country) and my local government certificate gotten from liaison office in Victoria Island. Your vetted print out and payment receipt. All in original copies and photos copies too.

Yesterday made it 8weeks after capturing.. still waiting for it to be out. Finger crossed 🤞

I chose Benin, i thought you did yours in Benin.

Please, i didn't get you correctly. Does it mean they emailed you and asked for the document or did you go to the center to make enquiry?
Mine is approaching 3 weeks since i paid, yet still not approved.

Is local govt of origin compulsory?

I did mine in Lagos state and did my sister own in Benin-city.

For Benin, which center did you choose?

In Auchi or in Benin City?

Lagos state emailed me on which document to . I didn't go there.

Local government certificate is very compulsory, because after ing it, you will still show them the original copy and submit the photo copy.

If you choose Benin City as your center, you don't need to wait for approval on online, just go on the day you choose to capture (appointment date). They will approve it there, in the office, print out your vetted prove, and they will capture you immediately. .....

Just start going there, I guess your date has ed. But still go with all your ed documents , originals and photo copies of each of them.. For Benin-city specifically, you don't need approval on online.

But if you choose Auchi.... I have no idea how the center works.

They are almost same thing, but DIY applicants in Owerri has chances than Abia State, where you will pay 20k before it will be vetted.

The best centre in the East remains Abakiliki,Awka is doing anyhow now, even though that's the centre My Boss used.

Please update us, I'm contemplating if I should do online or with them although it's expensive.
senseilekxzy:
I had to go and find my details in order to contribute to this thread because I got inspiration and "ginger" from here. I want to share my DIY experience using the Ikorodu port office. I can tell you for free that some people living in Ikorodu don't even know there's a port office there.

I applied for my renewal online and ed all ing documents. I used a port maker app to edit my picture to the right spec. I made payment using the Paystack option and I was able to complete it using bank transfer. There's a 2k processing fee, so total amount I paid was 52k. I submitted my application and got the "application received" email. I did all this on Friday 11th October, 2024 and I went ahead to book appointment for Monday 14th October, 2024. I was given a 3pm slot.

On Monday morning, I received an email that my application had been approved and that I could go ahead to book appointment. Me wey don book appointment since Friday. I didn't know I should have waited for approval before printing application form. So I printed the vetted application form and carried along with my receipt and all my ing documents in case they decide to ask.

I got there around 3:05pm. I greeted the officers at the gate and they asked whether I was there for collection or capturing. I said it was for capturing and I was told to go inside. At the entrance to the building, another officer asked if I paid online or someone was "in charge" of my application. I said it was the former and he said I should go to SERVICOM. The officer who attended to me at the SERVICOM unit asked for my documents and I gave him the application form, receipt and appointment slip. He asked to see my expired port. I had forgotten to make a photocopy of it. I went outside to get it done. I stapled everything together and went back inside to give them to him. He looked over everything and he told me to go and wait outside for me to be called.

I sat down under the pavillion there and was thinking it was some delay tactic I read they play on people who do DIY. Mind you, I was the only one there. The whole place was empty. I was sha pressing my phone. A few minutes went by and I saw one guy walking into the building. He was there for capturing. Not long after, the officer who attended to me came to call my name and directed me to the capturing room. The guy who walked in earlier was seated in front of the camera. When he was done, I sat down to capture too. The officer capturing me even cracked a joke about how many plots of land I'll give him when he saw that I'm from Ikorodu. He asked questions to confirm my details. He took my picture and biometric and wrote a number on a card and gave it to me. I guess I'm to bring that for collection.

I left the place and when I checked my time, it was 3:32pm. I didn't spend up to 30 minutes there. I'll probably just go there next week Monday to see if my port is ready.

I wrote this just in case it helps someone who's searching for information online just like I did before finding this thread. I'll keep it in mind to write an update when I collect my port.

Thanks bro for the explanation am able to pick some points in your narrative.

But when i applied for my own i saw it that we only need to come with vetted form and application form...which other documents do the require in ikorodu.my capturing is on Friday 17th.

My people, I can't believe I did biometrics on 23rd December 2024 and my port was issued on 27th December 2024. So it basically took 4 days, including public holidays to produce my port.

Meanwhile, on the printout, 17th March 2025 was written as the possible collection date, just to cajole me into desperate acts.

So yesterday, 16th January 2025, I decided to go back for collection, lo and behold, my port was given to me without hassles.

Nigerians are actually the ones spoiling these public servants out of desperation and ignorance, and they have been banking on that.

Yes, I'm one of those stingy Nigerians who love due process, I no dey give shishi 😁😀.

People of God, Alausa Ikeja port office is the best for now. Just do your things yourself correctly, nobody sends you.

Please can anyone confirm the current status of Akure, Ondo state, port center.

I live in Benin city but I heard Akure center is faster for DIY, please anyone with personal experience should confirm.

So much delays in Benin city center and I don't want much delays. Agent bill me 100k for 32 pages, 5yrs and I don't have such amount.

(1) Yes, the online Nigerian port application is real and convenient.

(2) No, Nigeria Immigration Service did not authorize istrative charge(s). Report the unauthorized charge(s) to the headquarters of Nigeria Immigration Service.

(3) No, there is nothing as istrative charge(s).

Feel free to begin your application by yourself. Visit: https://port.immigration.gov.ng/

If you need the list of the required documents, do not hesitate to let me know.

Have a fantastic day!

Good day Sir

Please, can I use the birth certificate issued by the hospital ? Or it must be age declaration as I was born before 1992:

And can you help me with the other documents needed for the port

No, do not use the birth certificate issued by a hospital, but use age declaration (attached with one port-sized photograph and duly endorsed by a Commissioner for Oaths) or an official birth attestation certificate from the National Population Commission instead. Birth attestion certificate is only available for Nigerian adults aged 18 and above.

Local government of origin certificate

Complete port application form

Approval form

Appointment Slip

A port photograph that meets the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards

Acknowledgment slip and evidence of payment.

Please go and collect your port, it should be ready since December last year but they will not inform you, rather they will write March 2025 on your printout as the possible collection date, so that you may start making desperate moves to bribe them.
Just go along with your printout for collection, there's No crowd there at all, and it's stress-free.
