First it depends on the pattern of build i.e spot welded or copper wire(fused)

If it is spot welded, you have to dismantle to correct d error but in case of copper wire coupled one,it's easier.

One way of detecting faulty battery most time is which is generating excessive heat?

Self discharge by testing the battery voltage drop

It's recommended that test is carried out on the sells b4 coupling.

Okay.

I will watch out for This heat you made mention of.

It's copper fuse I used

Who is familiar with this spot welder and how do you get it to work?
It won't weld on a 3s Lithium-ion pack.

You need a very good 45ah car battery to work, brand new battery if possible, works very well than my previous portable spot welder

I tried it with a brand new 75ah car battery and the weld spark was poor.

Same thing when I used my 3s lithium pack, or must the connection be firm?

the connection need to be very firm, and on the manual it is recommended not to exceed 45ah battery and not to add extra wire to it

I'll do as instructed and get back to you.
Thanks.

I didn't know that you can connect laptop charger to pwm controller to charge your battery.

So far the pwm voltage range is compatible.

Am using a 16v adapter with 20amps controller everything seems fine right now.

Happy new year guys.

Please I have a question, if after you have coupled your cells, and there is a bad one, how do you find the particular cell that is causing the fault lipsrsealed embarassed lipsrsealed

I fully charge the pack, break all positive connection and let it sit for Hours or 1day, then test individual voltages.

I used the car battery and it welds, but the issue now is, the car battery isn't mine.

How can I build a Lithium-ion pack that effectively power the spot welder?

Try 4s of lithium ion
But 4s LifePO4 will work well.

From experience 4s all the way.

I have been building some experiment around it.
Very efficient compared to 3s.

The only observation for now is battery tend to go out of balance when it gets to around 10.5 (I know it's below its cutoff)

how do you tweak your inverter to accept 16.8v?

Both have advantage and disadvantages.
4s:
can easily derail
Compatible 16v Inverters are not common.
Difficult to charge
3s is extremely flexible. Contrary to my old claim, I can now power a 100L freezer at even10.8v.

One major killer of any build is improper balance from initial stage.

Still checked my 3s set up this morning and all 3.65v .

Where can I buy this kind of BMS? Last time was from Aliexpress. I don't want to wait.

If you use a programmable inverter it's easy, just re-adjust your configuration.

If you can't ,find the maximum voltage yuyr inverter can take, and make sure it doesn't go more than that when it charges(give tolerance oh)

But basically that is it

Am currently using a famicare hF inverter all is good

I thing hybrid inverter will be very ideal of you are a big s.

It's better I stick to 3s configuration.

Please guys, my 3s 12v battery setup with bms is presently having different voltage along each series . Please how can I balance it properly? I noticed because it stops changing at 12.3v...it's so obvious it's not hitting 12.6v no more. Then I proceed to check the voltage of each series, hence I noticed the irregularities.

Presently, I'm in Ilorin and I have been searching for active balancer 3s 1A, but I haven't gotten none till this moment.

So, is there a way I could balance it while waiting to get an active balancer?

Attached is a diagrammatic representation of the present voltage of each series Please help

Configuration is 3s 6p (is this what you're asking?)

It was well sorted boss, I've been using it since mid last year (June 2024)

Yes.
You must have been charging at 12.6 or slightly above.

Since the set up is without an active bal, it can easily derail wen u go above or too low. The lower part is my usual fear.
