This was a clever tactic to circumvent the lack of standing that had always plagued getting SCOTUS to weigh in on this case. The EO means no US port can be issued to a child born to parents who are not US citizens or permanent residents. You then have to sue, claiming the government deprived you of your lawful rights. Then, it's up to SCOTUS to interpret the 14th Amendment. With a 6-3 Republican court, BR citizenship is officially toast.

Exactly what I was saying. Trump is already feeling like a dictator, issuing executive orders up and down. Determining citizenship should not an executive function but a legislative one.
