We keep telling them here but some USA government asslickers who don't understand the politics of economic wars insisted that tiktok is causing more harms than good, only in USA! Yet, this same set of people claimed that tiktok is not as popular and not widely used as Facebook, Instagram and others. Yet, it is the one causing more harms than others grin

I listen to one USA army officer who said that last year alone, he made times three of his annual salary in the military on tiktok through marketing despite not having enough time. He said his sister was making like 100k dollars per month on tiktok. Their elderly people said that the app makes them feel less lonely. They were given these options initially.

Don't mind them. What has changed just as Trump said through his social media s, is that it will not be an outright buy but a 50% stake to be taking up by a US investor while the original Chinese company will still maintain ownership of the remaining 50%.

I even believe TikTok will either make sure they retain 51% and sell out 49% to the US entity if it is a single company but can agree to the 50:50 if there will be more than one US company taking it up in order to ensure it has the simple majority of shares.

While this might be Trump setting the stage for a sale or not, I think the bigger picture is that there are powers that be who can mess with people's lives at the 'click of a button'.

If this wasn't resolved, thousands would have lost their legitimate livelihood overnight.

Funny thing is that Trump wanted to ban this same app back in 2020 or so. In fact, I dare say it was his push that led to this whole drama. So he's not actually "saving" TikTok. I believe Shou Zi and his team should know better.
