1. First refusal, business was not seen on CAC . This was a technical error as the website was on maintenance. I added additional docs so as not to give them another ground for refusal

2. It's advised by UKVI not to book a flight ticket until a decision is received. Anyways, you can book on BA's website by paying completely. no book on hold, and I think it's refundable before the first flight

U re definitely going about things the wrong way and refuse to listen: , this one is obvious: ,

What are you even saying?
Can't you see I'm asking for opinions?
Have I tried to put on an argument or what?
Or I don't have the right to seek guidance?
You lots Need to chill our when people come here to seek guidance and opinions.
How have I refused to listen?
I'm clearly seeking clarification.
Wo.. it's well o.
Demmybim: 2:59pm On Jan 16
davodyguy:

Doesn't matter.

What you should show is that you had the money months ahead of travel and it was fixed for the travel. So it doesn't have to be kept in your

Thank you Davodguy.
You've been helpful.
God bless you for your patience.

Your strongest advantage was that the home office made a significant error by claiming you were interviewed, along with the sponsor, which clearly did not occur. You effectively highlighted this discrepancy. Additionally, they burdened you with double expenses by requiring another visa application and possibly forced your hand to pay a priority fee because you had no choice but to meet up with your date. These were your key advantages .
Second strongest advantage was that the previous application you were punished for what was not within your rights- CAC and its maintenance issues. Should not have punished you for that.

b31164707:
Good morning, everyone. If you're applying for a visa for the first or second time after a previous denial, please ensure that the budget you provide in your application is reasonable and not excessively high compared to your monthly salary.

For example, if your monthly salary is between 750,000 and 1 million Naira, do not list a budget of 3,000 GBP, 4,000 GBP, or 5,000 GBP for one week, even if your savings can cover those amounts! The authorities want to ensure applicants are not budgeting more than three times their monthly income. I've seen several visa denial emails in this forum from applicants who provided budgets that were far too high in relation to their monthly earnings.

A more reasonable budget (excluding accommodation but including flights) for someone with a monthly salary between 750,000 and 1 million Naira, traveling for about a week, should typically fall between 2.1 million Naira and 2.9 million Naira (roughly 1,100 GBP to 1,500 GBP), with the total including accommodation and flights around 2,000 GBP.

However, I've noticed that certain factors may be overlooked by visa officers for applicants with a strong travel history over the past 10 years. For example, I know someone whose monthly salary was in the 400,000 Naira range last year, and he budgeted 2,000 GBP for about a week or less in London, including accommodation and flights, which is obviously quite high compared to his salary. However, this person had traveled to the UK six times in the last 10 years, as well as to Botswana, South Africa, Portugal, and other countries, which strengthened his application.

Thanks for your input.
Basically I think it's about the visa officer assigned to your case cum their experience.
Like I budgeted 2500 pounds including of accommodation and flight for 2 weeks yet it was listed as a reason for refusal.
I'd address it in my next application though.
Thanks always for your input

Experience? Your travel duration was for 10 days, not 2 weeks.
The liquid money you had in your was 5.m and a budget of £2500 is far above 5m and you can not clear out your for vacation purposes.
Fixed treasury bills= 0
t = 0
Pray, tell, how did the visa officer err for our learning purposes?

Exactly, so this was clearly the issue. For just 10 days, I personally would've budgeted at most 2,000 GBP (including accommodation and including flights), then ensured that all funds available for the trip are either in my salary or USD domiciliary or in both s. If some applicants are budgeting 1,500 GBP for 2 weeks, then I honestly don't see why you should be budgeting 2,500 GBP just for ten days

I told you same thing that irrespective of the financial instruments, the balance in your should be minimum 2* the budget of the trip.

There's no way you'll not spend ₦1.5+₦1.5+₦1m on the trip. Let's be frank. I just returned and despite not paying for accommodation and partly feeding, for a family of 3 it was well above ₦10m. If accomodation was included may be ₦15m in 14 days.

Traveling is not cheap at all.

For 10days, you need $50 a night budget hotel, that's $500*₦1670
Feeding too about £30*10days *₦2000
Ticket ₦1.3m
You'll transport yourself from Airport to Hotel and back to Airport, budget £100 for this, as cabs are expensive to airport. Local transportation as well.

You need ₦4m even with managing cost

Yiu should have more than than as financial instrument, which you can state you you cover letter and also about ₦8m in your .

If you want to borrow money, this January, you should have about ₦5m as opening balance
Add January salary of ₦1.1, take 30% out as expenses, you'll have ₦5.7m

End of February you'll have ₦6.4
End of March ₦7.1
End of April ₦7.8
End of June ₦8.5
Apply in July or August with your nearing ₦9m balance

And your financial instrument about ₦8m as well

Thank you Jesus Christ.

I just went to pick up my port, I got a collection mail this morning and I got a Visa sticker in my port.
After 4 refusal in 2016 as an 18 year old and two refusal in December 2024.

I wasn’t expecting this visa anymore..because of all the back and forth I had sending letter to home office and dragging with them.
I’m so happy. I was asked to reapply by the Entry Clearance Manager because of the error they made in the first application, but I was told I must meet with the requirements or I’ll be refused and I went for biometric Dec 19.
Fortunately, I guess I got this one.
My proposed date has even ed hahahaha.

@ jolene474 you are great I congratulate you, this call for big party celebrate,I tap from ur annoiting

Ur case is similar to my husband case,in 2015 my husband was refused uk visa 5times,but he as give up, but your testimony will give him hope,I will need you to help us answer these questions to help him reapply this year.

1) did you put the date of all the past visa refusals in ur application form? After that did you wrote another letter to clerified all the previous refusals?

2) Please what is the name of airline reservation you use for ur visa application?

3) and how much is ur income and ur living expenses?

4) how much pounce did you budget for feeding per/day

5) how many pounds you budget for transport and entertainment?
Jolene474(f): 7:08am On Jan 18
1: Yes, I entered all the previous refusal, I know they like it when you come clean with them, they can see all your previous refusals on their data, the date and time is on your profile, I think when they enter your name and DOB it will match with all your applications if any, and they can see the reasons for refusal and the documents you may have submitted, though all the reasons were same, I noted each refusal on the online form.
They never pointed out my previous refusal, I made sure I gave a concrete explanation for all the previous refusals.
I was interviewed in British Lagos Consulate when I was 18 and I wrote all the questions the British guy asked me and the answers I gave him and the name of the white guy who interviewed me too, I looked his ID, I also detailed everything in the embassy, the office I entered and the glass window and the camera that I looked.
So they knew this person came well for them…
I even told them to go play their CCTV at that very date, they will see my young self entering their embassy.. haha
While it may be more tight for him, he just needs to explain it, and make sure there is a continues trend from that life till now.
Don’t just go bring a new fresh thing to them, some may not buy it. Let them see how far you have come from that year till now, so they can track your personal growth, I think that’s one thing I really knocked on.
So when I was refused first, I was very disappointed and that made me write them, I can’t have this honest life and you tell me I can’t visit the UK, no way.
If I was an English with my job and small money saved I’m not sure you can deny me a visa, so why cuz I’m Nigerian. Omo I gave them hot in my letter, though they didn’t faze much but I think it made them seat up for my second application.
2: I did not make any reservation for airline, I only put the amount intended for flights and the airline name.
3: My income is roughly a Million. N967k
My expenses is about N290k
4: My budget for the 7 days I will be there, I think food was about 350k and transport about 500k

I only budgeted for
Flight
Food
Hotel
Transport(cab)
Ticket to Arsenal Game
Tickets for Tourism

I didn’t buy the ticket, I just put the amount for it and total it all.
That was all.

Always make sure not to budget more than 3 months your salary. Anyhow you do it, make sure you don’t get over this and also make sure the proposed amount reflect the events you going to do, maybe if you have family there it could be more cheaper.
In all that you do, avoid credits into your that are not salary, infact make sure no credit near that except salary or what you may.
The money they see N500 credit. Omo their hair go just stand for hand. I don’t know why but I had my own share, they said N12,000 and N2000 was not my salary. Lol
So avoid it.

I DON’T KNOW IF YOU BELIEVE IN GOD, BUT TAKE IT FROM ME, DO YOUR BEST AND PRAY.
My first application is November was a blunder, they went to mix my application with someone else information, all the reason for refusal was not related to me, I was angry but it was my breakthrough, Omo I settle down and used it against them, even the Entry Clearance Manager had to email me and review it and asked me to apply again, though it didn’t make them give me but I think it was an avenue for me to tight my bolt and nots.
All glory be to God.

Good morning house, please I applied for a UK visit transit visa . I did my biometrics since Tuesday, Jan 14th, 2025. I am travelling to Poland. I wasn’t informed that I will be needing a transit visa until few days before departure. This is my first time ing through London. I have a 3 hrs layover at London(Gatwick) airport . I had already paid for the flight scheduled for Monday, Jan 20th, 2025. I hold a valid Schengen visa. I am yet to receive a response from UKVI. Even though they can’t issue a decision early, I would like to obtain my port from them as early as possible. Please what can I do

It's too late to travel on Monday.

You don't have direct interface with Embassy.

Also your port would go through VFS and this alone would take days.

So send an email to Airline that Yiu may not be able to travel dues to port. Let's see if you can either cancel of pay for no show.

But learn a lesson. Give 30 days minimum to apply for any visa, whether ATV or regular visa
