Says their victories a collective triumph for Ndigbo

Governor of Enugu State Dr. Peter Mbah has congratulated the new leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide on their emergence, stressing that Ndigbo were better together.

Mbah, who expressed happiness over the peaceful process and the outcome of the Friday election, described the election of the new Ohanaeze national executive as a collective victory for Ndigbo globally and reminded the new leadership of the pan-Igbo organisation that the Igbo nation was full of expectations, given their individual pedigrees.

The governor spoke when he received of the new National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze led by the new President-General, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, in his office at the weekend.

He said, “I would like to start by heartily congratulating you all, on behalf of the Government and the people of Enugu State, on your election to lead this very important organisation. I can only imagine the weight of expectations that must be on your shoulders now.

“But as I said yesterday, this is not a personal triumph. We see it as a collective victory for Ndigbo.

“It is also a demonstration that we now have a solid succession pattern in Ohanaeze. The election was rancour-free, and I also take this opportunity to commend my brother governors who decided not to be ive, knowing how important this body is to the affairs of Ndigbo.

We know you; we know your pedigrees and we also know that both your leadership experience and your intellectual pedigree preceded you. So, we have no doubt that the task ahead is one that you have the capacity to discharge. It is indeed an onerous task and it begins now, knowing all the existential threats we are all exposed to as Ndigbo.

“I did describe, in my metaphor of the arrow, how strong we will be if we are able to constitute ourselves as a quiver or a whole rather than just a single arrow. The same thing will go for the broom metaphor. You know you can easily snap a broomstick, but a bunch will almost be impossible to snap. So, I think my charge will be for us to forge a united front as a people in resolving all these challenges.

“We are stronger together. As I said yesterday, Ohanaeze Ndigbo represents the soul of our people. It is a very important organisation, which is why we are very happy with the profiles of people that have been elected to its headship.

“We are full of expectations and we pray God to imbue you with the wisdom of Solomon and great health to successfully pilot the affairs of the entire Ndigbo.”

Speaking earlier, Azuta-Mbata commended Governor Mbah for his leadership and pivotal roles in seeing to the success of the election.

He assured that the new executive would not fail Ndigbo and the nation in general, especially given the unprecedented accorded them by the governors and Ndigbo.

“As you know, we have only just been sworn into office. You were gracious to be in attendance with your colleagues, the governors of all Igbo states, and it was unprecedented in the history of Ohanaeze Ndigbo meetings.

“So, we thought it appropriate to stop over and thank you for your immense efforts and to Ohanaeze Ndigbo. We thought we should extend our gratitude to you and to the government and people of Enugu State for what you have done and continue to do,”
he stated.

At least this settles the argument claiming that Ikwerres are not Igbos. With Senator Azuka Mbata and the PG of Ohanaeze, hopefully Ikwerre people can freely and conpletely associate with their fellow Igbo brothers all over the world.

Obi Wali would be heaving a sigh of relief. Obi Wali who struggled for the creation of Rivers State was one of the founding of Ohaneze' Ndigbo. Some folks failed to understand that Port-Harcourt played a huge role in the formation of Ohaneze Ndigbo.

For the fact that a bat chose to fly & associate with birds, doesn't remove the fact that it's not a bird but a mammal.

For the fact that some Ikwerre folks chose to associate with Igbos, speak Igbo & even head Igbo organisations, does not make remove the fact that they are not Igbos but Benin descendants.

Bats were created to fly, just like birds.
Ikwerres were born into the Igbo ethnic group otherwise they should be sharing the same name, nature and traditional behavior of the Binis, which they do not.

Do you know that most tribes and peoples migrated from one tribe of the country or the world to the other? Many lost their relationships and continued where they found themselves. An example is the Igbos of the western side of the river Niger. Many found themselves migrating from either the Igalla ethnic group or directly from Nri, the cradle of Igbo history. They acknowledge their history, but have not lost the fact of their identity. Do those from Igalla land speak Igalla? No. What do they speak? Igbo. Who do they tell you that they are? Igbos.

If the likes of Azuka Mbata identify with their Igbo people, then they know more history of the Ikwerres than those who quarrel on social media for no reason. Now do you know that Nyesom Wike was asked by the Ikwerres to take up the leadership of Ohanaeze two weeks ago?

The Igbo race is not one homogeneous people. Different descendants came down to the region and settled there. Thereafter adopting Igbo as their identity. A neighbouring town in my community bears "Ife" of course they were a descendants from the other side of the Niger but today they are Igbos. There are descendants from almost every area of southern Nigeria that migrated to the region, which also explains our lack of Kingship. There is no one Igbo ancestor, rather we have a conurbation of settlements that were geographically defined as Igbo

Mbata been elected president of Ohanaeze does not mean Ikwerre is Ibo, Mbata as a member of Ohanaeze is qualified to run as Ohanaeze president if he meets the requirements, that does not mean that he represents Ikwerre or Rivers State, Ogbakor Ikwerre World Wide have said it all, Ikwerre is not Ibo and neither is Rivers State.

The Ogbako Man is fighting for his pocket
4 lga president Compare
100+ lga president recognized by Presidency
The Ogbakor man thinks his influence will be strongly dwarfed by an Ikwerre as Ohaneze president,
During Ohaneze election
Both Obi Akpo and Ikwerre Lga Chairmen and many prominent Ikwerres where among Rivers delegate that came from Rivers to Chief John Mbata,,
So the Ogbakor is fighting for his relevance he cant even speak for his own immediate family on where they dey believe is there root talkmore the whole of Ikwerreland.

Who is the Ogbakor(igbo word for Gathering) President that nobody knew when he was even selected to the Creams of Ikwerreland who Said Ikwerres are part of Igbos Men like
Chief Obi Wali
Sir Jack Mpi
Chief Joseph Wobo
Chief Nwonodi Okogbule
Chief Emma Aguma
Chief Chibuike Amaechi
Chief Emma Aguma

If u talk about famous Ikwerre Celebrities
Ducan Mighty Julius Agwu Monalisa Chinda
Mercy Chiwo Tonto Dike
Just like Chief Obi Wali 99% of Famous Ikwerre Celebrities See themselves as part of Igbo not the Benin fabricated stories.

So who is Ogbakor President Speaking for
Only few hungry pooe people from Ikwerreland who felt intimidated are the once saying we nobe Igbo (One of them was arguing
being Igbo will put him under pressure to start hustling to make money he prefers to remain poor forever grin and his name is Chima ) 90% of Successful Ikwerre dont do identity crisis shit ,
If not for death not many Knew Late Chief Albert Onyewunbu Wigwe One of Richest Ikwerre men was among financialer of Ohaneze, ,

Its Simple Some
Ikwerre are With Igbo root
While Some are not
but the Ikwerre with no Igbo roots are the once who refused to go off Igbo names and culture they are dragging it with the Ikwerres with Igbo roots who are mostly successful once ,,

As a Rivers man and one who was born and bred in Port Harcourt, we only have 3 major ethnic nationalities in Rivers State and they are:

1. Ijaws(Izon) - Andoni, Abua, Bille, Wakirike(Okrika) Ibani(Bonny/Opobo) Kalabari, Nkoro, Odual, Engenni

2. Igbos - Ikwerre, Etche, Omuma, Obuigbo, Ekpeye, Ogba, Ndoni

3. Ogonis.

Anyone who claims not to come from any of these groups are aliens to Rivers people.

If you are sensible enough you should have known that there are certain royal families that are enshrined with the right to produce king's or Oba as the case may be.
If Ikwerre pple don't belong to such royal families, how can they be able to produce Oba of Benin & go against Benin customs?
Even in your Igbo land, is it every Igbo family that produce Igwe or Obi of Onitsha?

...of course, Onitsha was founded by the Ados and binis, if you meet the obi Onitsha, which I have had the privilege of meeting he will tell you the true origin. The Aniomas and Onitsha use the term "Obi" for Kingship which is a derivative of "Oba" which is influenced by their closeness to the west...if you go further south you see "Eze" which is distinct from "Obi" and if you go north you see "Igwe" which is distinct from those in the South. That is why wherever the Igbo migrates, he forms a new settlement. Which is why you hear Eze Ndigbo in Lagos, Kano etc ..hence if you speak Igbo and share our custom and values...you are Igbo
