Hi Fam, can someone please advice me which Platform is better between Ircc new portal or the Gckey portal.. this is my first time applying for a visitors visa to my wife who is sick in Canada and also visit our new born child who is Canadian. I was given an Invitation from the Hospital and also from Social service Canada to quickly come. Do I stand a good chance considering the high rejection rate? Any advice will be appreciated. We have a bank balance about $6k but a 5 months cash flow of over $100k. I read where they said the New ircc portal is more of IA, so wondering if that will affect my chances since it's not viewed by human.

My mum received a port request letter today for a visiting Visa. I want to use DHL to send her port/return it to her. Is there any other documents to add apart from her port,port Request Letter, and VFS Consent form? Or is there any other options for mailing?

apart from the child being a Canadian, the child can only sponsor you to the a permanent residence when he/she is of age, you are entitled to child benefit etc, however as a last resort you could get permanent residence on humanitarian and comionate ground ( not guaranteed)

I have a valid US visa and in the new portal, it asked for "Proof of financial " (I submitted bank statements). I also included a self introduction/cover letter (with an overview of my travel plans) and employment + promotion letters. I forgot to add my full itinerary but I believe that can be helpful too. For a safe balance to have, I'm not sure. Someone here recommended budgeting at least $300/day. So maybe a little over that, prorated for 7 days will be good enough.

Yes, I received my visa already - within a month of application. This was my first Canada visa. I used the new IRCC portal. I don't have anything to compare with, so I can't say which is better.

Processing time is around 6 months but What do you mean by adding your work experience? Is work experience a document becos what ircc need is proof of your work like a letter from ur company or do you mean the information you filled in online? Since you have already submitted your application, there’s nothing to do but wait. You have a good chance as it’s a family visit, but you still need strong home ties, which include proof of a reputable job. I wish you all the best.

I’m quite sure they didn’t use your email because, to access the portal, you need the code sent to the ed email, and most agents don’t do that as they want to have total control. However, it’s good that you have your UCI number, as you can order your GCMS notes anytime.

I’ve gone through a lot of the post here and I noticed that after you’ve applied and get your biometrics done, you wait for biometrics validity confirmation and port requests?

Is that how the visitor visa is processed? I always think that you get called for an interview or something. Someone please explain the process to me 🙏🏾

There's no interview with canada visa. Just submit ur application online and wait for their decision

Your wife is a PR holder and requires medical attention and family , so you will get the visa even faster. However, consider applying for PR yourself, so you won't need a visa in the future.

Firstly, the letter was dated two months ago. Why didn't you apply then? Additionally, you are using your wife's bank to apply for the visa. She is a student in Canada, and you both manage the together in dollars while you are based in Nigeria and she is in Canada. How does this arrangement work?

Given the medical urgency, you may still qualify for expedited processing of your visit visa, as determined by IRCC. So she is a PR holder , she's not a student, she works as a professional Project manager in a company. All her medical surgeries are insured and we don't pay a cent.. it's free.. I would have applied earlier but that was when Nigeria had port issue and it took time for me to re-new. Again how does this expedited process work? I didnt see it from the Application, I only saw Visit to take care of loved one and I clicked on it..

U will print a consent letter from vfs website, fill it and sign it for the kids.
Then, dont forget d biometrics paper they gave u on d day u did ur biometrics.
