I have been monitoring my corolla 2010 model fuelling lately. My car have covered 249km with 27.3 liters of fuel. Is this fuel efficient, if no.....pls what do i need to do to improve my fuel efficiency. There is no visible sign of check light. |

No, it's not efficient enough. That fuel should be able to cover like 750 to 1000km

honda001:stock mpg for your car brand-new from factory is 28mpg city driving and 32mpg highway driving . Seeing that the car over 15yrs old .. your 22mpg is fine |

honda001: Check for a vacuum leak, if you can get someone with a smoke machine, if there is air leak allowing too much air into the engine, the ECU will try to add more fuel to balance the excess air in order to maintain the stoichiometric ratio. Also ensure you are using the right weight oil specific for your car as using heavier oils can impact your fuel efficiency. |

Liter is not complete. Bad fuel quality. If you consider all these you won’t bother. Change all the plugs and put some tina or injector cleaner inside your fuel tank. Lastly use better oil It will improve overtime |

At least you should get 270km. Is it highway or city? Did you encounter any traffic? Refuel and repeat the test again. Funny enough i get 37 mpg to 39 mpg in my Honda Civic. Though my is manual transmission.

Squad4: there is no vacuum leak , because this should have activated check light. maybe i need to revert to 5w-20 , i changed to 20w-50 because of oil short after every 3000km |
honda001: 4:00am On Jan 15 |
ksmart027: this is impressive - it is city and there is no traffic |

fineboynl: Recently ,am buying fuel from MRS and i think there liter is complete. Hence my escalation for help. i hv not used any fuel additives before - can i used tina. |

honda001: There is a threshold it has to reach before check engine is triggered. That it hasn't been triggered doesn't mean there is no leak. |
