Mrmekzy_, a well known Igbo influencer on Twitter who will play “Ojukwu” in the new biopic to be released shared his recent experience when he went to Anambra last December.

I was at Anambra state from the 20th to 30th of last year. People living there were so scared and all talking about the insecurity, people didn't even come back much because of the insecurity. We attended many events across the state and my friends refused to travel with their nice cars, we used a mini shuttle bus or a nissan wagon instead. Why? Insecurity and fear of kidnapping.

Once it's 6 pm, their wives and parents starts calling them and asking them to come back home.
Within the time i was there, they kidnapped a house member representing onitsha and a reverend father who's also a pharmacist (sadly he was killed). I also heard stories of others that were kidnapped and didn't make the news.

The most common topic of discussion in any gathering was the insecurity in the east.

Saying the insecurity in the east is exaggerated is you being intentionally dishonest and I'm beginning to think this is a paid gig.
