Mamabella:on dis table too... Just dt i cn lactate well but my son rejected breastfeeding just because he like bottle feeding than breastfeeding because i started lactating 4days after given birth. Me too have being thinking on how to lactate before going to labour so that i dont hv to offer bottle to my baby to reduce d chance of baby rejecting breastfeeding... I dont hv strength to b expressing milk from breast at all.. So from my little research ooo... D only way to lactate b4 labour is d normal way of expressing after birth by hand massaging d breast ir get a manual pump... But mind u it can bring on labour... To lactate well as per ur question... U r not a new mom in dis forum n must have try d ideas given here... As i dont have new ideas apart from d ones we already know. 1 Like |

kokaiye: Also ensure you don't feed baby with feeding bottle rather with spoon so the baby doesn't get use to the feeder . 2 Likes |

With some women (me inclusive) the breastmilk doesn't start to flow well until after some days. The thing is, the amount of breastmilk a newborn baby needs in a day is quite little (you can research this). With this in mind, know that no matter how little breastmilk flows on the first or second day, your baby is getting food. The fear that a baby is not getting enough food puts the woman on edge, and the worst thing you can do when trying to get your body to produce milk is to be on edge, worried, or afraid. So, to help your body produce enough milk for your baby, these are the steps you should take. Firstly, put your baby to suck as soon as you can, shortly after birth is most ideal (an hour there about after if possible) but this is highly dependent on how the delivery went, it could take a longer time to hold your baby and breastfeed. Regardless, as soon as you can have your baby, breastfeed whether or not the milk is flowing. Keep putting the baby to feed. Secondly, ensure your baby is latching on the breast properly and not sucking air. A baby latching properly is very essential to allowing breast milk flow. Thirdly, eat healthily. Your body needs good food to produce milk, eat well when breastfeeding. You will notice you might need to eat more than usual. Fourthly, be calm and relax. Don't panic. Get enough sleep and rest. Remove worries from your mind, hold your baby close and enjoy the process. As an added bonus, drink hot fluids (pepper soup works for me) hot pap also works. You can make different types of pepper soup and store in your freezer ahead. With these steps, your milk should flow well all through your breastfeeding period. I hope this helps. ananne: ed my previous post and decided to revisit it. My daughter eventually did not sleep in the cot because once you place her there, she wakes up. We eventually sold it to a children thrift store at a very low price (less than 10% of the original price). My new challenge is how to booth the children to their room and on their bed. It makes no sense I got each of them a Twin Bed and they wouldn't want to sleep in their room. How do you make children sleep on their own in their room? |
