The Ooni of Ife was beside the Ga Mantse (King of the Ga) at inauguration of the new Ghanaian president in Accra Ghana.

The Ga people are the indigenous people of Accra and they are from Ile Ife.

Awesome!! This is an epic picture. The King of Ga visited Ile Ife few months ago and rededicated their ancestral ties with Ile Ife and Yoruba race.

The Ga-speaking peoples are organized into six independent towns (Accra, Osu, Labadi, Teshi, Nungua, and Tema). They are indigenous landowners of Accra. They are descendants of Yoruba who migrated to present day Ghana long ago and they proudly identify with their Ile Ife and Yoruba roots.

Yoruba culture has always been very influential and powerful. Many cultures die when far away from their ancestral homeland and especially during the trans Atlantic slave period, only Yoruba culture and religion survived and remained intact wherever the Yoruba migrated to

Below is the picture of the famous Yoruba House located in the Caribbean island of the Bahamas. Yoruba House is dedicated to freed Yoruba slave descendants.

Very true..

Oyo empire was a very strong & influential one. They made warriors out of both men & women. They fought wars and didn’t lose any. When Nupe people invaded Oyo back then, they couldn’t defeat Oyo so they changed their mind and succumbed. They started living with Oyo people, married Yoruba women and by the time they wanted to leave back to their region, their Yoruba wives followed them..

This is one of the reasons why Yoruba are many in Niger state till date. The late King of Niger state royal Tinubu *Jagaban of Borgu* for historical relation and other reasons..

I like this re-connection of histories. grin

More of this pls.

This is the real de-colonisation. cool

I think we should research Igbo/Fulani ancestral connections.

Something tells me they are remotely related... undecided

One can see the expression of joy on the face of King of The Ga, sitting beside the Ooni of Ife from the source Ile-Ife.

Level level. The Ooni is a god above all other gods, but not comparable to the God of all gods, Eledumare Oba Adaniwaye.

I may have issues with Tinubu and some Yourobas, but you see this Ooni ehn? I like the man die! I like seeing him always - no homo.
Since the day I watched his interview on one NTA program some years ago, naim I don like the man.

Just as T-pain is the walking symbol of corruption in Nigeria; Ooni of Ife represents unity. He is a unifier. A detribalized man. As a human, he may have his shortcomings (especially with women), he is indeed a great guy. I wish I would meet him one-on-one someday

I feel you bra, even me a full blooded Ijebu Ode man, I really wished my father was from Anambra cos I envy their entrepreneurial gift and money making spirit cry

But of the truth, when it comes to African traditional culture, juju and voodoo practices, my Yoruba people are the number one in West Africa. Igbos live a cultureless life almost close to that of the Whiteman undecided
