darc: Location is Lagos and the size of the building is 6m by 10m. Thanks |

Ourown: Abeg which granite you buy? Cos when I started my foundation work, I bought 30 tons for almost 1 million Naira last year…. |
darc: 6:01pm On Jan 06 |
Lordcrixus: The Reinforcement 13.5 tons is it for the entire structure or just foundation? Looks much for a 6 x 10m foundation Are you sure the structure is 6 x 10,? I doubt that, cos 6 x 10 can't contain a duplex + 2 flats. You can send your drawings to my mail for detailed BoQ. Ciao. |

fashrola: The price of granite depend on your location. Even in Lagos price vary. But 1million for 30ton is way too high anyway. Mainland should be around 380-410k for 20ton |
bixton(m): 6:57pm On Jan 06 |
fashrola: When you say almost 1 million, like how much was it less to the million and also where was the building site located when you bought it and from where did your supplier told you he was getting the granite from? I also want to ask if the 30 tons supplied to you came in what kind of truck/trailer....I mean to know how many tyres it got? |

fashrola: Your location is most likely far away from Southwest where there are quarries, l paid averagely 540k per 30tons multiple times for Lagos delivery. |

topsy23: Akwa Ibom State Most of the granite is sourced from Odukpani/Akampa |
fashrola(m): 7:57pm On Jan 06 |
OkanlawonB: Yeah, my location is in Akwa Ibom and mostly all the granites, stones here are brought from Akampa/Odukpani (The transportation alone plus clearance, permit & levies etc makes it more expensive) |

fashrola: Ooh okay |
Skydivine: 10:46pm On Jan 06 |
fashrola:Why would you choose to buy granite from Akamkpa to Akwa Ibom when Calabar Itu road is un able. The truck could spend a week on that road. A distance that normally is less than 1 hour 30 mins. Buying from Ebonyi should have been easier and cheaper. We bought for #700k the last time. |

Hello Gurus in the house. I am about to do a dwarf fence for a 690 sqr meter land which is about 1 and a half plot. Location is in Umuahia, Abia state. I will like to know what the current cost of cement is at the moment and how many bag of cement and blocks will be okay to do a dwarf fence. Maybe 5 couches of block from ground level. I would need estimate. Your opinions are welcomed. Thanks guys |

Skydivine: All granite used in Akwa Ibom state are brought from Akamkpa, there’s no quarry in Akwa Ibom. So that’s the option available here….. Granite are gotten within 3-4 days based on booking |

Granite are gotten within 3-4 days based on booking, some are available already on ground but if not you have to wait for the granite to come but definitely you will see granite in UYO but it will be a little more expensive than waiting for days for granite to come |

I'm not a building professional though but I sense that the building design is as a result of the shape/size of your land. However, you may ask your architect to still review the plan especially the portions I marked red (window protrusions and dinning wall) whether they are necessary. Regarding your request, @ Saydfact use to be very helpful in this area but noticed he's been inactive on this forum for some while, I only hope all's well with him. Better still, get a BOQ from a professional. I wish you speed in your project journey. Sabibouy: 1 Like |

First you need to know the size of your building. Dont just listen to what the carpenter/bricklayer say take a measuring tape and measure the building by yourself and the price of the wood by yourself. Ask the carpenter the type of wood he’s getting for you. Then come back here 1 Like |

Some key takeaways from block decking - It reduces loads by replacing quite amount of concrete with blocks - More stronger than normal R.C slabs and can span longer. - Requires 50% iron, gravels, sand and cement compared to normal slab. - Carpentry work, electrical and plumbing is same as normal slab. - The method has been in existence for a long time me to handle your work professionally 1 Like |
