Wenbanyama is easily the best defender in the NBA right now. He leads the NBA in Blocks per game. Plus he is averaging 26points per game in just his second season. And would likely finish top 5 in MVP voting.
He also has a FG% of 46%. How would him playing under the basket improve anything. Asides your personal biases, how does that help him in anyway, seeing as he is doing so well already with his preferred style of play?

I don't have any issue with anyone going to the rim. I'm saying everyone should play to their strength. Under 30% shooters chucking up 3s is bad but the problem with the NBA isn't only about that. Foul baiting and going to the line 10 times a night is as much a menace if not worse....Embiid and Shai won't make this league anymore interesting, afterall a lot of those guys that took it to the basket were historically poor shooters. Shaq didn't bait for fouls, he couldn't even score them.

Actually, this is traditional basketball. The point of a game is fighting through opposition, not just draining 3s. There are far better shooters with 100% FG in an empty gym. But we dont pay to watch those people. I agree with you that too many foul calls makes the game drab and unwatchable, but it cant be like NBA JAM either. The main difference between NBA and college hoops or other leagues in the world, is this is a grown man's game. You cant be 6'6, 240 lbs and be avoiding and playing like a ballet dancer

Shai averaged 3.6 3pt attempts per game last year. This year he's averaging 6. Can you see the trend? Jokic is up to 4.7 from 2.9 and is shooting 48% up from 36%. Now if it were you, would you shoot more 3s or less. The game is all about analytics these days. You can't find a clear advantage and not leverage on it as much as you can. There's so much money involved these days to not take any advantage you see.
