Lauretta Onochie, a Nigerian presidential aide, has reacted to a video showing Canadians queuing for palliatives.

In the video, a large crowd of Canadians can be seen waiting in line to receive palliatives. The scene is reminiscent of similar scenes often seen in developing countries, where citizens may queue for essential items.

Onochie's reaction to the video highlights the unexpected nature of the scene, with many Nigerians expressing surprise that a developed country like Canada would experience such a situation.

The video has sparked a wider conversation about the impact of economic conditions and the importance of social welfare programs. Many have praised the Canadian government's efforts to provide to its citizens, while others have criticized the perceived inefficiencies in the distribution process.

The reaction from Onochie and other Nigerians underscores the global nature of economic challenges and the need for effective social safety nets.

THEY WERE ORDERLY..

Giveaway was announced in a city in Canada to cater for 1000 households for Christmas. Guess what? 15,000 individuals showed up and WAITED for hours in the rain. But unfortunately only 2000 got food and the rest got nothing. No Stampede

If you watched the video and you have been bouthing Nigeria, may God forgive you. To you, these things can only happen in Nigeria but everything is rosy in other countries. The guy in the video even called Canada a poor country. They were queuing under the rain for hours to collect Palliatives.

Always justifying their utter idiocy, cluelessness and wickedness. Is Canada being governed by despicable people like what is back here? Is Canada among the country with heartless leaders who weaponised poverty and used it against their citizens? When it comes to any good indices of human and developmental progress, they will never live up to what is obtainable in Canada, Britain or US.

I just no wan post videos of UK own, because we shouldn’t be glorifying what is bad. It was even my white neighbours that took me to the place. We met my Estate Agent there. But this is not justification for bad governance

Hmmm !

There are poor people everywhere, no doubt.

But that won't stop Nigerians from calling out their leaders constructively.
They can do better.

The evil of the Nigerian mind knows no bounds.

Now to the topic, if you analyze the demographics of the kind of people that turned up for the palliatives they’re considered unemployables.

Drug addicts, high school dropouts, illegal migrants, previously convicted felons and their likes. In contrast to Nigeria, able bodied, hardworking unemployed and underemployed people struggle for palliatives.

For how long would we continue to settle for a place at the bottom of the barrel or vie to break infamous records? Please look up bürgergeld.

Go and check well. Many of those people are immigrants struggling in Canada because they have no papers. Nobody will tell you that people move to Canada on visitor visa, try to convert it to work permit and it turns out unsuccessful and they are struggling to survive.

Nigerian government officials always look for negative news to justify the mess they have made of this country. They can never tell us what they have done differently that has made Nigeria better than other countries. Nigeria is a dysfunctional country with a sick people!

They're being governed by Angels and that's why 15000 of their citizens were scampering for Palliatives meant for 1000 people. You denigrate your country but stick out your tongue to lick white ass.

Canada is better than Nigeria, but it has really been rough for the country of late.

The economy is tanking and inflation at all time high. Unemployment is over the roof, and housing has gone crazy. Healthcare in shambles and waiting time now like forever. Talk about the exchange rate against the dollar, that’s a story for another day.

The country bit more than it can chew. Why keep itting people into the country when the opportunities and infrastructures are not there. Like some pundits will say, it was a money spindling venture for them.

They might be forced to become the 51st state of the US.

Even @ that many citizens of Nigeria will still preferred to be in Canada as asylum seekers than to remain in this hellhole of a country cursed with irresponsible and wicked leaders who have no basis of being in govt.

50 kg rice went from 45,000 naira to 100,000 naira within a year of Tinubu's tenure.

Prove to me that same scenario happened in Canada or keep quiet.

It doesn't have to take place at an asylum. A man who doesn't know where the next meal will come from will go for free meals that are being shared in his province. This is common sense.

50kg is $1 Canadian dollar, that's why 15,000 of them are happily under the rain waiting to collect Palliatives.

For me,we should neither accept mediocrity nor abysmal performance from our leaders. It is a known fact that our economy is barely surviving and we shouldn't celebrate failure.I am a card carrying member of APC,but I must be honest Pbat needs to address the problem of High exchange rate which is currently messing our economy.
