malachai89: lol , UK can never be third world , even if they ship all third world countries into UK. Itās a working environment . You may have pockets of idiots and nincompoops here and there but UK is mostly sane . Iād rather raise my kids here than in USA anyway . But now hereās the thing about relocating , no one can advise you more than first hand experience. I wonāt lie to you , if the economy of Nigeria improves , omo I will be on the next flight back home . Because itās a terrain I understand . I know how to navigate my way around earning money in Nigeria . But in UK , you will have to learn from scratch and even if youāre earning a good salary , it will most likely not be so much in excess that you can do as you like , lol. UK is a leveling ground , your next door neighbour could be a renowned surgeon and be driving a Range Rover and the next man could be a handy man and be driving the same . The only difference could be how they purchased it which wonāt be public knowledge . Maybe the surgeonās own is on HP and handy manās own is on P . But koko is that both are enjoying same utility . The UK is a leveler . Now the challenge with UK is their political instability . Today na this policy ; Tomorrow na another policy . And most times all these policies na just to remind immigrants say we no be one of them . But then the system works perfectly , living here is soft as long as you have a job . You will eat well, have fast internet , have access to good medical care , steady power , good roads , security , respect no matter the job you do . I personally would prefer Nigeria of 2012 a million times over UK of today . But Iāll pick UK of today 10 million times over Nigeria of today . Ultimately , itās up to you . You have to experience it to decide. I would advice you to do what I did , although mine is a bit different . I took a 2 year study leave from my job to test the waters . And I didnāt sell anything back home , down to broom, all my belongings in Nigeria are still intact. My wife doesnāt want to go back but me o, if my job gives me a juicy offer , Iām on the next flight home. Give it a shot , worst case, youāll get a degree . Try to do a degree in something that will matter in Nigeria . Donāt just go through the study route for the sake of it . At least even if everything else fails , youāll have something solid to show for your endeavors. But God will be with you . Cheers . 11 Likes |

ogify1: Hello.. dont be worried okay? Fingers crossed by Monday your payment should be received and receipt issued by flywire. |

Nkc99:I got this mail now. Iāve sent the payment since 24th, now when I track itās showing cancelled. I guess the holiday messed things up

Youngman85: 12:32am On Dec 28, 2024 |
ogify1:Since they claimed they didnāt get the payment, the next option is to your bank for refund. I think the payment didnāt go through, cos they canāt receive the payment and claimed they didnāt. You include your student ID in the reference while making the payment |

ogify1: I'd suggest you primarily follow up with Flywire, not your bank. They'll still receive it and will acknowledge it. Wire transfers are usually irreversible, once completed. This is why payment methods offering instant settlement are usually ideal for these sorts of payments. I've personally experienced wire transfers taking as much as 2 whole weeks to settle, so it's highly discouraged as a payment method when you don't have boatloads of time. Take note, for future payments. Get a foreign currency card or send Flywire nairas. |

Iansunderland:It was naira I sent from my first bank to the Wema they provided. They should pls oooo ha!! |
Akintomide454: 1:38am On Dec 28, 2024 |
ogify1:If flywire didnāt received the payment, you will definitely get your money back on Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Best advice is you should go to your bank and lodge complaint. |
Youngman85: 1:39am On Dec 28, 2024 |
ogify1: Well, you can just relax and let it sink in on Monday. Fly wire surely send acknowledgment email for payment in two working days. If you donāt hear from them on Monday, your bank to be sure the payment is went through. Afterwards, you fly wire. No need to panic. |
ogify1(m): 1:41am On Dec 28, 2024 |
Youngman85:Okay, thanks |

Akintomide454:Okay, thanks |
Iansunderland: 3:00am On Dec 28, 2024 |
ogify1: Okay, I see. My comment was in relation to international foreign currency transfers through SWIFT. Nairas on Flywire are instant so in this case it will be returned to your acct. |

Good Morning Everyone. Please Iām asking for someone. So basically his aunt has been sending him allowance since his undergraduate days and now this same aunt wants to sponsor him for his masters. She isnāt his legal guardian by law or anything she is just a family member willing to sponsor him for masters. Now, she has provided him with everything he needs including her bank statements. Now he discovered this whole legal guardian thing which she currently isnāt. Please how can this be sorted out? Can she still sponsor him? Please are there people on here whose aunts or uncles have sponsored and how were they able to do that without them being their legal guardians? Are there documents he can provide as evidence that she has been sponsoring him since that can fly? Please your responses will be very much appreciated |

Blackshaid: The Aunt should send the money needed, to his own bank . |
10011: 11:34am On Dec 28, 2024 |
She needs to send the money to him or one of his parents. No document would be sufficient enough for UKVI to be happy he has the money to enter the country. Blackshaid: |

Because I got an email from VFS on 24th of Dec stating that my application has now been sent ro UKVI for consideration. The mail also states that UKVI will confirm receipt of the application, buy I have not gotten any mail from them till date. |

Good afternoon everyone, please I need a clear understanding on this issue I'm being told by one agent. I intend to travel with my spouse, which I have been searching for an MRES program but I haven't been able to get one. Later the agent called to tell me that doing a research program is bit stressful over there and that I should consider the other alternative which is the part where the government will sponsor me so I can come in with my spouse, I argued with him due to information I have been able to gather here that it's not possible, but he was telling me we can do it. Note, I'm not associated with any government neither do I know anyone in power at all but please is this actually real because he said he can help me run that so far I'm ready to spend some cash. Please, help me out on this, is this possible because I haven't heard of anyone meeting a Minister or commissioner for a letter and we regard it as government sponsorship. Any explanation on this will help me alot please My Ogas |
Iansunderland: 4:17pm On Dec 28, 2024 |
Headward: Just go for the MRes program. Yes, you can bring dependants if on a govt-funded scholarship. Not personal scholarship from the Commissioner. Major scholarship programmes like Commonwealth, Fullbright, PTDF, Chevening. The idea of bribing a politician to facilitate a scholarship like this... You may end up wasting money without getting what you want. So I'd just suggest you keep the whole endeavour straightforward from beginning to end and just do the MRes. Don't give any agent room to forge a scholarship letter and just give you and earn you a 10-yr entry ban. |
