The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he has no regret for ing President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general elections.

Prior to his ministerial appointment, he governed the oil-rich Rivers State for eight years under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform. He was later called by Tinubu to serve as FCT Minister in the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government.

Speaking during a thanksgiving service in Ochigba by the PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas of the state, he thanked President Tinubu for believing in him.

Wike said that he was threatened before the presidential elections for ing Tinubu, adding that he would do the same thing if another opportunity comes.

“I have no regrets, I have no apologies. If the opportunity comes I will do the same thing,” he said.

Land Grabbing

He also dismissed allegations of land grabbing levelled against him by some residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Wike said the right things must be done, adding that those in possession of government land must do the right thing or risk their plots of land revoked.

The minister described as laughable the allegation of land grabbing levelled against him.

“I am in charge of lands in Abuja, how will I go and grab what I am in charge of. We must thank Mr President, if he did not use this opportunity, we wouldn’t have known. Here in Rivers State, we thought it was difficult.

“When you go to the capital, you know you are dealing with the entire Nigerians. I can assure you, no matter the cry you cry, no matter the propaganda you carry, if you like give me any name you want to give me, the right thing must be done,” he added.

Understandable since he is getting all FCT money without oversight of TSA , while failing to employ and pay workers well to provide the services and utilities for a federal capital.

President Bola Tinubu has pulled the Federal Capital Territory istration, FCTA, out of the Treasury Single , TSA, effectively paving way for the Nyesom Wike-led FCTA to utilize the territory’s Internally Generated Revenue IGR for the development of the nation’s capital.

At a news conference Friday in Abuja, Wike also disclosed that the President has approved the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission to allow for staff career progression.

I never ed Tinubu... The reason was that under his watch APC ruined Nigeria

I in 2015, most of us then in Aba were saying we preferred Tinubu to Buhari... But unfortunately, everyone that loved Tinubu then never ed him in 2023 election because of the failure of the APC and he kept quiet

Now he's trying to fix a mess that his party caused and it's not easy on him

My take is, Tinubu is working and his policies are good... He has his bad side but nevertheless, I wish him well.

In my opinion, he should continue in 2027 because any change in government again might cost us much than expected

I live in Area 3 close to the Catholic Church, there is tap water here.

Wuse, Wuye, Maitama, Apo-Gudu, Asokoro, Kubwa, Garki etc.. have tap water.
Pipes are currently been laid along Airport Rd-Lugbe area and water will start flowing as soon as the Usman dam expansion is complete
