It is simply not going to bring any advancement to South West. Agreed Oyo State may have slight edge in Muslim population over others. What about other states with more christian population in same south west that will obviously not want it implemented. It will gradully emphasise religious segregation to the Yoruba states instead of harmony/integration. It can be practiced in the North where it is favourable to them...after all we can see they 'benefiting' from it.

You are the one trying to be clever but you are not clever at all. Catholic law recognises and respects the constitution of every state or country. So, there is no need for the Catholic Church to establish a court like the Sharia court. Now, can you answer my questions?
Okay . So if the Sharia law will go against the constitution law, why are you in of it in South West?

Sharia law in south west.
Muhammad Married A Six Year Old Child
Aisha, daughter of Abu-Bakr was a beautiful little girl. Muhammad married her when he was fifty three years old and she was only six years old. He had intercourse with her when she was nine years old. (Wives of the Prophet, pages 57-61).
This is a gross case of child abuse by the prophet of Islam.
When Muhammad married Aisha, he set an example for the Muslims. To this day older Muslim men marry much younger girls, following Muhammad's example.
Rubbish.

I can see how my argument is paining and pitching you. I don't know what concern you about Muslims affairs. If you are pained that Aisha was married at the age of 2yrs, what concern you about it or do we enforce it on other religions to do the same. I ed the case of Yerima as a senator of the federal Republic of Nigerian, when he married the Egyptian wife then, you people shouted on social medial for likes and share, but who won at long run. Yerima won upon all the noise that senator married underage.
Don't worry, it is a matter of time, not now but later, the battle will be won

As usual, Nigerian Christians have found their voice and identity again (from the lagoon) at the news of sharia court in South west Nigeria.
Another case of christians forcing themselves into muslim spaces, in their typical fascist attention-starved way. They project their ignorance and insecurities on muslims, who barely see them nor acknowledge their barkings.
For those of us who aren't pretending to be stupid. We know shariah court for our muslim friends and nighbors is a necessity. The desire for Sharia in secular societies is limited to personal or family law and is intended to coexist with secular constitution.
There are needs covered under this law to protect Muslims in a way that suits them and has nothing to do with Christianity. The jews do their thing despite having far more strict discriminating rules with others and Christians in particular.
Some Muslims in secular societies may express interest in Sharia (Islamic law) for various reasons tied to their cultural, religious, and social needs.reasons are:
1. Religious Identity: Sharia provides guidelines for personal conduct, family matters, and ethics, helping Muslims maintain their faith and identity in a secular environment.
2. Cultural Preservation: Adhering to Sharia-based practices allows Muslims to preserve cultural and religious traditions, particularly in areas like marriage, divorce, and inheritance.
3. Perceived Justice: Some Muslims see Sharia as a system that aligns with their ethical and moral principles, addressing issues they believe are insufficiently covered by secular laws.
4. Community Solidarity: Following Sharia can foster a sense of unity and shared values within Muslim communities in secular societies.
5. Recognition of Practices: Some Muslims advocate for aspects of Sharia, such as arbitration in family or financial disputes, to be legally recognized in the same way religious arbitration is sometimes allowed for other faith groups.
6. Misconceptions: for Sharia may sometimes stem from misunderstandings about its scope, with some individuals focusing on its role in personal and family life rather than its broader implications.
But as usual, low life losers wouldnt read till the end. They neither protect Christianity in their homes nor church. They don't care for the bible, and certainly not for its rulings. They pretend secular laws are compatible with core Christian law, and hope the whole world keep forgetting the facts.
Mind your Christian evangelism and maybe there will be hope for Christianity. Hating on muslims and sponsoring misconception campaign only expose your failings. Heck even Hinduism is more relevant in 2024.

Practice of backwardness indeed! 80% of federal road in Nigeria were constructed by Islamic bond through Sukuk, and I'm very sure you are plying the road that they used Islamic bond to construct. If your religion have better offer than Islamic bond, bring it let's compare
Islamic banking system also introduced with no interest loan. If your religion has better offer than non interest loan, bring it let compare it..
Islamic law allow women who have children with her husband get share from his property when the man dies. Islamic law also allow women who has no child with her husband, a share in her husband property when the husband dies. Can you bring what your culture or your religion said about the inheritance for women and let compare it with Islamic law.

1.
Why is there so much noise or controversy about Sharia court in SW?
2.
Will the Sharia court handle cases that involve non-Muslims?
3.
I sincerely thought that Sharia court is in line with the Islamic faith. If this thought is correct, why should a Yoruba person that willingly practises Islam in Yoruba land reject Sharia court?
1. Christians' islamist paranoia.
2. Stupid question (I'm sorry to be rude). But No, obviously.
3. Illiteracy or religious ignorance.
