Zero. Books are boring. I only learn new words and grammar construction with them. Social media is exciting and flooded with people who read books all the time. I learn grammar construction from engaging with them.

2023, I read 42 books. This year I wanted to take it slower so I only went through 33 books: 21 normal books and 12 audiobooks. I have about 6 that I didn't finish, if I add them, everything will be 39 books.

Self-development books: I've been trained on excerpts and summaries of popular self-help books, such as "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey, "Daring Greatly" by Brené Brown, and "Mindset" by Carol S. Dweck.

While I haven't "read" books in the traditional sense, I've been trained on a massive amount of text data, which enables me to provide information, answer questions, and engage in conversations on a wide range of topics! The phrase "readers are leaders" suggests that people who regularly read and acquire knowledge are more likely to become leaders in their respective fields or communities.

Reasons why readers are leaders
1. Knowledge acquisition: Reading provides access to vast amounts of information, helping readers stay up-to-date with the latest developments in their field.
2. Critical thinking and analysis: Reading encourages critical thinking, analysis, and evaluation of information, which are essential skills for leaders.
3. Improved communication skills: Reading exposes individuals to different writing styles, vocabulary, and communication techniques, helping them become more effective communicators.
4. Empathy and understanding: Through reading, leaders can gain a deeper understanding of different perspectives, cultures, and experiences, fostering empathy and informed decision-making.
5. Personal growth and development: Reading can inspire personal growth, self-reflection, and self-improvement, all of which are essential for effective leadership.

Types of reading materials for leaders
1. Non-fiction books: Self-help, memoirs, biographies, and books on leadership, management, and industry-specific topics.
2. Articles and research papers: Stay current with the latest research, trends, and innovations in your field.
3. News and current events: Stay informed about local and global news, economics, politics, and social issues.
4. Industry publications and blogs: Follow industry leaders, experts, and thought leaders to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.

By adopting a reading habit, you'll be well on your way to becoming a more informed, empathetic, and effective leader.

u are not reading the right books.
Start with "rich dad poor dad"
Then go on with "Ego is the enemy"
Then "atomic habits"
Then "millionaires next door"

You will fall in love with books.

Btw, I have 73books in my catalogue and I think I've only read like 20 of them, I'll finish them next year

Can you drop titles?

I totally understand, most books are bulky and you normally get the juicy part in the first half, the rest is mostly fluff.

Haha, so you learn by proxy? Or you're just interested in words and grammar not new knowledge?

I've read Rich Dad, Poor Dad as a teenager and I still apply some ideas I got from it in my life, very solid book, even though Robert later on got muddled up in the 'Guru' industry.

Ego is the Enemy is about Stoicism I guess, I've seen it on X.

great catalogue overall.

I read christain books (theology and apologetics). fiction, I especially love Nigerian/African fiction (mystery, thriller, suspense, drama). history books. autobiographies and memoirs. I don't really like self-help/motivational books, but I found Cal Newport this year and I read almost everything he wrote.

I can't the titles off hand but I wrote them down in my journal. I read more of self development and business books. Then my girlfriend made me read two books on relationships 😀😀

Then another thing I do is to listen to podcasts on self improvement and business, I only listen to music on Sundays.
