What Movie Are You Watching Now? (4443350 Views)

abduleez1: Are you sure you watched Man of Steel? All your explanations as to why he let his father die is there? Do you see the aftermath of saving his colleagues life in the bus accident? Do you hear what the father said? Hell no.. I don't think he's going to make Lois marry Batman. What Superman said as he wanted to kill Batman in the Darkseid stuff was that... You let her die.. He's accusing Batman of letting lois die. That' has nothing to do with marrying at all Damn.. you are so deep in this hating of a thing for Snyder that you can't see what's right in front of you bro. I am a fan of good movie.. All the character did well..no hating nor criticism. |

NobleStag007:He could have saved his father easily, and nothing would have happened. If he had gone for the dog instead of his father, no one would seen him doing his thing. Even if he had gone there without using his powers, the tornado would not have harmed him. I enjoyed Man of Steel, but it doesn't change the fact that some events made no sense |

A middle aged and bald Lex Luthor makes more sense. I have to agree with ishilove on this one. How many young billionaire industralists do you know? Mark Zuckerberg is a geek. But Jeff Bezos- bald, cunning, machiavellian |
abduleez1(m): 8:55pm On Dec 22, 2024 |
GracieX3: I have not much complaints on Hoult cos he can act. So fingers crossed. Jeff Bezos actually really look like the exact replica I'll picture for Luthor. 😂😂 I'd have gone with James McAvoy — talented actor. Can easily sell you the sinister and Machiavellian look with subtle calculation. But peeps over at DC wants someone younger, for the long term. |

NobleStag007:actually, Clark didn't let his father die, his father told him not to save him, that his time hasn't come and the world isn't ready to accept someone like him. Letting someone die, means you can save the person, but refuse to. Abduleez mentioned that there's no way Superman is letting Pa Kent die, he forgets that as at the time Pa Kent died in Man of Steel, Clark Kent wasn't Superman yet, heck, dude was still discovering his strength, atleast it was pretty obvious he couldn't fly as at that time. I honestly can't understand why some people hate Synder's portrayal of Superman in Man of Steel, as well as in Batman Vs Superman, I on the other hand, absolutely love it. The movies are great, I enjoy watching them. 3 Likes 1 Share |

NobleStag007:If this was a Nollywood movie, I'd say you were paid to write this. This your ogogoro rating now, will make someone miss a very very good action packed movie that is good for both kids and adults. That movie should not rate less than a 9ine 3 Likes 1 Share |

Zack Snyder is a hack who got lucky with 'Dawn of the Dead' and has been riding on that high since. Thank the stars WB fired him when they did for he would have done an irreparably damage to the Superman lore. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Snyder fans are a curious bunch. I often wonder what they see in that hack that warrants such hardcore loyalty? 1 Like 1 Share |

GracieX3: The role wasn't handed to Hoult on a silver platter, he earned it. A lot of actors auditioned for the role of Lex Luthor, and Gunn giving it to Hoult would imply that his rendition impressed him the most, yes? Fun fact, Hoult also auditioned for the Superman role, and while he impressed, Gunn gave him the LL role because he felt he'd be a better LL. |

The Seed of the Sacred Fig (2024) "Your name is Iman (إِيمَان). How can you lose faith?" There are times when I step outside the conventional Hollywood bubble and explore films from other parts of the world stories that confront real, horrifying issues. Iranian cinema, in particular, has always been one of my go-to choices for such profound narratives. The sacred fig, also known as Ficus religiosa, is a ruthless plant that suffocates everything around it, including its host. This serves as a powerful metaphor encapsulating the essence of the film, how the Islamic Republic of Iran oppresses and suffocates its own people. The story follows Iman, a high-ranking Revolutionary Court judge, his devout wife, who staunchly s the regime, and their two dissenting daughters. What begins as a family drama set against the backdrop of the Mahsa Amini protests gradually transforms into a politically charged thriller when the father’s gun goes missing. This is a slow-burn film that demands patience, but the payoff is profound. The movie's themes transcend the oppressive Islamic Republic of Iran, presenting a universal conflict: the generational clash between the modern, progressive youth and the pragmatic, tradition-bound older generation. "The world has changed; the kids think differently," the wife remarks, to which Iman replies, "But God has not… nor His laws." However, some elements didn’t sit well with me. The portrayal of the father as almost villainous in his defense of totalitarianism felt heavy-handed. Similarly, the notion that children have no right to protest because the old ways forbid it made the third act difficult to digest. As someone still learning about Islam, I genuinely want to believe this faith values women. Yet, the depictions in the film and what I’ve observed in real life, paint a grim picture. In places under strict Islamic rule, women often seem to bear the brunt of oppression. Despite its flaws, The Seed of the Sacred Fig is a powerful film and one of the best I’ve seen this year. I’m rooting for it at the Oscars for now, at least, until I work my way through the rest of the 2024 Best International Feature shortlist. 7/10 2 Likes 1 Share |

NobleStag007: Your master Snyder completely missed the ideal of Superman. It's not about being superior or inferior, rather it's about standing up against things moralistically and ethically. It's about being a symbol of hope, about housing an inherent belief in the goodness of mankind. 2 Likes |

Kaycee7: LOL, the trailer woke something in me that that has been on hibernation for God knows how long. When Kypto appeared, I cried tears of joy. ![]() ![]() From the trailer, it's apparent that Gunn is leaning heavily into the comic aspect of Superman, it shows that unlike Snyder, he clearly understands the character. I loved how it's different from Snyder's version of Superman. Snyder portrayed him as a god, which goes against what superman stands for - a beacon of hope. Gunn cooked here definitely. It'd be nice to watch a good Superman movie again. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Ishilove:as daft as you've always been you can't recognize the response Gloriousgbola posted was generated from Meta AI.. Most of his posts are culled from chatGPT.. There was a day Proserpina aka Farfalla thanked and appreciated him for bailing her out of some minor issues she had in her PC, she was just all over the young man thanking him for recommending solutions to the issues she had with her computer. The dumbass lady didn't know that the deceptive Gloriousgbola who also goes with his second alternate moniker Nazgul consulted AI, selected and copied all the generated results and posted it to the dumbass lady and luckily it worked. I was just there laughing, didn't want to expose his bare ass cos that day I woke up from the right side of my bed ![]() 7 Likes 1 Share |
