[/b]Troops Launch Offensive Operation, Neutralize Terrorists, Destroy Camps in Tsafe LGA[b]



Troops of the 1 Brigade, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in a t collaboration with Operation Forest Yinzuya (OPFY) Multi-Sector Task Force (MST) and Hybrid Forces, launched a coordinated offensive operation in the Yankuzo general area of Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

The operation targeted several terrorist hideouts in Asola Hills following weeks of intelligence about their activities within the general area.

Intelligence told Zagazola Makama that upon reaching the general area, heavy artillery fire was deployed followed by a close air , enabling the troops to advance toward Asola Hills.

In the course of the operation, was made, the troops engaged heavily armed terrorists, killing some of them and forcing some of them to retreat northward on motorcycles.

The combined forces, ed by airstrikes, pursued the fleeing terrorists and destroyed their life- structures and camps located at the foot of Asola Hills.

According to a military source, an unspecified number of terrorists were neutralized, while others were targeted in air interdictions as they attempted to escape with cattle. Ground troops also recovered three motorcycles abandoned by the terrorists.

The operation, which concluded at 4:45 p.m., was described as hitch-free, with troops safely returning to base after a thorough debriefing.

This offensive forms part of intensified efforts by security forces to dismantle terrorist networks in Zamfara State and restore peace to the region.

[/b]Operation Fansan Yamma: Troops Neutralize Terrorists, Capture Weapons in Zamfara[b]

Troops of Forward Operating Base Anka under 1 Brigade in the t Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma Theatre in collaboration with Zamfara State Community Protection Guard (ZSG) and local vigilantes conducted fighting patrol to Bambaran Village, Anka Local Government Area and had encounter with terrorists.

As a result 2 terrorists were neutralized while items recovered from the terrorists include a PKT machine gun, one AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and 3 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

This successful operation underscores the collaborative efforts between the military and other security forces in the Operation Fansan Yamma Theatre of Operations towards ensuring safety within Zamfara State and the North West Zone at large.

Shehu alleged the establishment of a French military base in Maiduguri, North East Nigeria, ing his unfounded narrative with a video clip that misrepresents the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Nigerian Army, and a foreign military officer as being part of the French military.

We categorically state that there is no French military base in Maiduguri, nor are there any plans to establish one in the North East Theatre of Operation. The video in question depicts the Acting GOC 7 Division, Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna, addressing the press alongside a member of the British Military Advisory Training Team (BMATT). This event occurred on 25 October 2024, at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, during the handover of equipment donated to OPHK by BMATT, which was received by the Theatre Commander, Major General Waidi Shaibu.

It is important to highlight the longstanding and fruitful military partnership between the Nigerian Defence Headquarters and BMATT. The Nigerian Airforce component of Operation Hadin Kai has successfully struck a gathering of ISWAP at KAULA near the Dogon Chuku axis, in Borno, Killing several terrorists.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the terrorists were staging at the site, equipped with gun trucks, motorcycles, and other logistical supplies on December 17, 2024.

The buildup was designed to coordinate attack on nearby military installations especially Malam Fatori.

Responding swiftly to the threat, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) carried out targeted airstrikes on the gathering.

The operation resulted in the destruction of gun trucks and motorcycles, along with the neutralization of several terrorists reported to be preparing for combat.

On Friday, 20 December 2024, the Naval Headquarters team which was led by the Chief of Training and Operations (CTOPS), Rear iral EO Ferreira arrived Maiduguri, Borno State. The team visited the Theatre Command Headquarter, Naval Base Lake Chad Annex Headquarter, and the ongoing projects in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Furthermore, on Saturday, 21 December 2024, the team proceeded to Naval Base Lake Chad (NBLC), Baga. In his remarks, the CTOPS commended the Commander NBLC, Commodore AT Ebo for the successes & achievements recorded by the base and for making the Nigerian Navy proud in the theatre. He then urged the base to sustain the tempo of the operations and also gave assurances that efforts will be emplaced to address the challenges highlighted. Lastly, the CTOPS delivered the Chief of the Naval Staff Goodwill message to the Officers and men of Naval Base Lake Chad.
