In addition, we need a creative LCM. I’m sure Martinelli and Trossard would do anything to have a player like Odegaard or someone close to Odegaard behind them. If they have a creative LCM they could combine with like Odegaard and Saka does, it would at least take some pressure off them.

Martinelli's biggest strength is his pace. He thrives more when running behind and receiving the ball. He has never been a good dribbler. The reason why it seems he regressed after Xhaka left is due to the ing abilities of Xhaka. Xhaka is a great er which is why every players (Auba, Saka, Tierney and Martinelli) playing ahead of him were always having great games.

My own solution is to shift Odegaard a bit centrally or move Odegaard to LCM and get a right footed RCM (I once tipped ESR). Let him be running behind instead of receiving the ball while stationary.
