PriceActionZ: Exactly! The case is already in court, and by all indications, Lagos and Rivers states will win. Every state government should look inward and stop depending on others. Also, I hope President Tinubu will increase the 13% derivatives for host communities to 40%. It's essential that every state starts looking for alternative solutions. This is how to restructure the current system, where some states prioritize building mosques over factories. Instead of sponsoring pilgrimages with public funds, they should invest in training programs. President Tinubu, seems to get this one right, and I hope Southerners will this bill wholeheartedly. 1 Like 1 Share |

Teejay2033: He isn't pro-North, he is Pro-Atiku. Have you forgotten him deleting his Twitter post, about the girl that was killed in Zamfara or Sokoto, because Northern respondents were threatening him over the elections. This is the one Peter Obi wants to jump in bed with. Birds of the same feather I guess have to flock together ( Yes Daddy). 1 Like |

emmyN:And the worst thing is that most of the idiots have been there for more than 20 year's, yet has never in their miserable drunken lives raised a motion. As a true blood Son of the South South, it's such a pain and eyesore to see all these old idiots still in the helm's of the affairs of the South South. 1 Like |

Elmuktari: The Southwest was undoubtedly the most developed region during the era of regional governance. Despite the absence of oil reserves, the region thrived. Therefore, it's perplexing to suggest that the Southwest would suffer if Nigeria were to break up. Our greatest asset has always been our exceptional human capital, not natural resources such as oil or gold. |

Atiku Abubakar’s call for a fiscal system rooted in justice, fairness, and equity resonates with the concerns many Nigerians have regarding the proposed tax reform bills. It’s clear that the issue has sparked significant public discourse, with many people voicing their fears that the bills could disproportionately benefit certain states at the expense of others. His point about the need for transparency and objectivity in the public hearing process is also valid. It is crucial that the discussions around these bills are not only open but also inclusive, ensuring that all stakeholders—from civil society organizations to traditional institutions—have a platform to present their views. This will allow for a balanced approach that truly reflects the diverse needs of the nation. Moreover, his call for the National Assembly to make the resolutions of the National Economic Council (NEC) public is important. The NEC has a constitutional mandate to advise the President on the country’s economic affairs, and their input should not be overlooked. It’s essential that the National Assembly takes this into to ensure that the final version of the tax reform aligns with the broader interests of the Nigerian people, rather than serving the interests of only a select few. Atiku’s emphasis on fairness and ability is a reminder that effective governance is rooted in transparency and inclusivity. Only through a process that genuinely considers all perspectives can we hope to achieve a tax system that benefits all Nigerians equitably. |

Thewrath:yoruba most traveled. Do you know the population of igbos in north and outside Nigeria? It’s only Yorubas that are always making noise about being “ “accommodating” …can you name a place Yorubas have more population than igbos in Nigeria? Even outside Nigeria..everywhere in the west, igbos have more in the east with the least opportunity but that's the only place they could afford yet igbo flood to all those places yet no yoruba in ibo land. Hmm, talk about opportunity. Why don't ask of you from ebonyi and enugu not run to anambra, why Lagos Abuja ibadan and kafanchan. You only go home for Christmas to show you made it in the west and north |

ATIKU IS RIGHT. TAX PROPOSAL SHOULD BE SENT TO THE 36 CONSTITUTIONAL STATES CABINETS AND LEGISLATURES FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS BEFORE BEING SENT TO NASS. THAT IS DEMOCRACY. |
