The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Agency on Tuesday sealed a warehouse stocked with rice worth over N1bn, allegedly diverted from palliative supplies meant for public distribution.

The warehouse located along Ring Road in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state was sealed during an operation led by the agency’s Executive Chairman, Muhuyi Rimin-Gado.

The seized bags of rice, bearing President Bola Tinubu’s image and the inscription “Ramadan Kareem”, were purportedly intended for distribution during last year’s Ramadan fast.

However, the agency uncovered that the items were being re-bagged under different brands for sale in Kano markets.

Rimin-Gado, speaking to journalists at the scene, described the act as a blatant display of corruption and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“This is a clear form of corruption because these are commodities meant for the public. Considering the hardship people are facing today, it is appalling that someone would have the audacity to re-bag and sell them,” he said.

The anti-corruption chief revealed that the agency recovered a re-bagging machine used for repackaging the rice and had arrested one suspect in connection with the diversion.

“We are here armed with a search warrant, arrest warrant, and court order. This is part of our investigative activities to recover stolen public resources,” Rimin-Gado stated.

He assured the public that a comprehensive investigation would be carried out to identify all individuals involved in the illegal activity and ensure justice is served.

“Our commitment is to uncover everyone behind this act and prevent a recurrence. For now, one suspect is in custody, and we will ensure all legal procedures are followed in dealing with this case,” he added.

The wickedness of most Government and some of their officials in civil service in Nigeria is next to that of the devil. Palliative that is meant for the masses is being hide in a warehouse without distributing it to those who need it.

Yet we complain about our politicians. Most Nigerians are very greedy
Who else has access to such quantity of govt rice other than the politicians?

The problem is still the politicians, whichever way you look at it.

Why is Kano the only state with Anti Corruption Agency in Nigeria?

If other states are serious, why can't they establish their own agencies to start fighting even before EFCC will come in?

This shows how serious we are in fighting corruption in Nigeria.

Nigerians love corruption and corrupt leaders, forget all the noise abeg.

And who was complicit? It's not the politicians that loaded it in the warehouse, it's not the politicians that still rebagged it. It's the same Nigerians that are doing it to themselves.

Nigerians made Nigeria this way. Sensible people in this country are few.

Those who are hired to rebag the rice, are they not human beings. Are they all politicians? When the masses refuse to hands with politicians in their nefarious activities, everybody will change.

Until we blacks realise that Being a Muslim or being a Christian does not make you a good person or a righteous individual then our level of wickedness will decrease, the Nigerian mentality needs total overhauling, I wonder why we are not very close to either Koreans or Chinese so we learn humanity and patriotism, we are just over religious and grossly wicked minded human we gaslight each other by blaming political class and back and forth but in truth if the corruption favours us we call it connection but if it does not we call it oppression

The person or people responsible still went to mosque and prayed five times a day while calling their Nyansh infidels..
