That's called affirmative action

Cmanforall:

Senator Saliu Mustapha, APC, Kwara Central, is sponsoring this bill?
Why mandatory inclusion?
delpee(f): 8:47pm On Nov 26, 2024
Nothing new. It was embraced briefly during the OBJ and/or GEJ era.

We can also explore making bread from other local grains like fonio and millet.

What would now happen to diabetic patients who are on low starch diets like wheats. Adding cassava to wheat appears like a good diet to some people, but not diabetic patients.
On the perspective of creating an export economy for cassava, it seems like a beautiful idea, but visualising it's health implications, it doesn't look good.
He is a brilliant senator, with a business acumen.

You need to shut the F up.

You lots are just unbelievable, look at shallow excuses, like you care about anyone not to talk of diabetic patients๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

We need more of this, look at rice, the production of local rice have increased over the past year, if we continue, in 10 years we will be sufficient and maybe begin export.

This cassava flour inclusion policy is a smart move! With the rising cost of wheat, adding 20% cassava flour can help stabilize bread prices and boost local agriculture. Itโ€™s time we embrace our homegrown resources instead of relying on imports. By the way, I deal on shared apartments in Lekki for anyone looking to split rent or find short lets. Also, if you have an extra room or need a space for your business, hit me up! My services are strictly for Lekki and surrounding areas. Letโ€™s make living and working easier together!

Think

Deeply before talk

This will be unconstitutional

People have a right to choose what to eat
Free choice
If you want to promote cassava in flour give incentives or subsidy
Not make a law that everyone must eat one thing
That is why we have market forces
Different types of garri
Can you get up and say all eba sold in restaurants must contain 20% yellow garri

The PRINCIPLE is the same.
They have not thought Deeply enough

Are they bakers is it even every product that can be made with 20% cassava flour
It isa very stupid idea

They should make policy on the textile industry. This is very important.

The textile industry is like a goldmine for employment creation. It employs in thousands and we love parties a lot in Nigeria.

They should make importation of fabrics a contraband to boost local production. Just imagine how much we will save in FX with millions of students going to school, parties every weekend and many festivals in this country?

What this means is that "don't eat made-in-Nigeria wheat product again". Oh dear.

If a person wants wheat, they should get undiluted, unadulterated whole wheat. If a person wants cassava, they should get cassava.

And now, ing a bill to force residents to eat abomination? Oh dear, what a people and congregation of senators.

The real reason I asked you to shut up is, you point is baseless and to be frank a quick Google search would have saved you this embarrassing discussion as related to your home training.

NEXT TIME, DO LITTLE RESEARCH BEFORE JUMPING TO CONDEMN ANY TOPIC.

For your education (don't forget to say THANKS)
Cassava has a low glycemic index of 46, which means that it is less likely than some foods to cause a rapid rise in blood glucose levels. If you have diabetes, cassava could be a healthier choice than white potatoes, which have a high glycemic index of 85, according to DietAndFitnessToday.

Because carbohydrates raise blood glucose levels, you should monitor your consumption of starches if you have diabetes. However, you do not need to eliminate starches provided that you eat a balanced diet. If cassava is properly prepared to remove toxic compounds, it is an acceptable alternative to white potatoes and other starches.

YOU ARE WELCOME!

Casava is consumed by at least 150 million Nigerians daily, we practically live on casava.

This is a welcome development.

Some suggestions are great while others are not worth the read. This is a free market. Let those who want to drive down cost mix cassava and wheat and see if people will buy and pick. Nobody should waste tax payers money talking eless things in the senate. If bread cost โ‚ฆ5000, those who will buy will buy. And if cassava bread Na โ‚ฆ200, people wey no go buy am, no go buy. No need to any law. I want drink coffee small.

Point of correction, the comparison can't be between wheat and cassava, the topic said 20% cassava, that means we still have a good percentage of wheat in the flour, which means wheat is present.

The issue is 20% cassava, which in your subjective opinion is bad, and to be more precise, the comment I responded to was about diabetic patients, and if they can consume cassava.

Now read the previous comments slowly, then respond if you need to, or just don't if you are satisfied CIAO!

What level of education do you have?

Why not have pure cassava flour?

Don't you know this may give room to substandard baked goods

What is the standard and what is the substandard here?

You can actually use many different food items (breadfruit, sweet potato, corn, cassava, plantains, carrots, pawpaw etc) to bake different varieties of

bread either wholly or in different combinations.

The only reason why we assume that only wheat flour can be used to bake bread is because it was introduced to us by the white maen who baked their bread using wheat ,which were readily grown in their environment.

Similarly, we can brew beer from virtually all foods rich in starch but we restrict ourselves to only barley, hops, malts and sugar

Until we start massive decolonization of our food industry and other sectors of the economy, Nigeria will find it difficult to develop
