Hi guys,

Please, I will appreciate it if anyone knowledgeable about this can reply.

One of my relatives immigrant visas is on processing. We received a below message even after everything is submitted, now, we are not really clear on how to specifically attend to this. There's no any family member that can stand as a sponsor again here.

Instruction received:

" The income reported as stated on form I-864, I-864A is insufficient to overcome the public charge grounds of inissibility for visa issuance. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Form I-864 from a t sponsor may be submitted. A consular officer will decide if you meet these requirements at the time of the interview. Note: You, as the sponsor, and any other sponsors household and t sponsors, must provide updated or additional evidence for the applicant to present at the time of their interview such as: Other income, Assets, Proof of current employment. You can continue to documents to CEAC up until the date of your visa interview "

My question, is it also possible to attach bank statement of the sponsor showing savings to that can cover the remaining fund required? Please advice

And, is there anyway we can CEAC?

This petition was filed in Dec 2022 and we are only waiting for this Mama interview date in Lag.

Thanks

@Taal17 @Aestake , please guys

It kinda stops the petition, however I do think there are waivers that can be filed so it's not impossible.

What if the t sponsor is in the USA and able and capable to take any form of responsibility for the applicants

The petitioner must be
1. Domiciled in the US

Or
2. Show proof that they intend to return and resume domicile in the US before or at the time the applicant gets to the US.

Proof of resuming or maintaining domicile include, evidence that you vote in elections ( which you can do in Nigeria), bank statements, new job in the US or job applications , regular visits to the US.

Note the petitioner MUST be in the US before applicant or arrive with the applicant when they land in the US. Border patrol will ask. They can turn you back.
Even at interview at consulate, they will ask and they already know if petitioner has left the US so don't lie , just provide evidence that they will resume domicile.

Lastly as someone else has said even if petitioner earned 0 income they should file taxes. They are still required to fill i864 form.

Hello everyone,

I need some advice, please. Our international ports will expire in a few months, so we decided to renew them. I have a few questions:

1. Do we need to the new port on the CEAC site, or can we simply bring both the new and old ports with us to the interview?

We’re a family of four living along the Ikorodu Road. We have a car, but I’m not familiar with the area around the U.S. Embassy on Walter Carrington Crescent. Is there a safe place to park nearby, or would it be better to take an Uber or Bolt? I’m also considering staying at a reasonably priced, safe hotel nearby to avoid any delays. I’d appreciate recommendations from anyone familiar with the area.

Additionally, has anyone recently applied for a police character certificate (PCC) online? When I went to the Alagbon office, the officer informed me it would cost ₦50,000, but I saw online that the total cost is ₦30,000. Should I proceed with the online application? I’d also like to know how long it typically takes to receive the PCC this way.

Thank you

Taal17:

So Trumps tenure will become official in January.

It may not be favorable for immigration based on Republicans lean towards firmer immigration policies.

Any major and needed immigration changes however require bothe parties in House of Reps and Senate to agree on a Bill . This has not happened in decades and next year will show whether they have SENSE.

BACK TO WHAT CONCERNS THOSE IN NIGERIA waiting for interview dates.

Hopefully, since Biden is leaving. Lagos Consulate may rush and get as many as possible scheduled for interviews for family based immigrant visas before He comes into office in January.

This is because in2020 Trump signed 2 executive orders that made both Nigeria and those on certain Family based categories unable to be interviewed in Lagos. That stalled interviews in Lagos significantly.Biden reversed those executive orders in 2021 Jan.

So if you are DQd and PD is current, get your documents for interview ready, go and set money aside for medicals and flight tickets.

Hopefully by grace interview letters will start coming faster
They should just the EB1 and EB2 categories. Many of us are DQed close to 2 years now, and current.

Thank you. Must the t sponsor be a family member of the household or it can be anybody?

Although, this financial part was not marked "rejected ❌" in the online application, so I'm considering their statement as an advice, I don't know. What do you think?

Hi guys
My story is sort of long but I really do need help, suggestions or assistance on what to do.

My petition is about to be revoked and I have been given 30 days to give good and sufficient cause to show why it shouldn't be revoked.

In 2016 my sister using my mum as the petitioner filed for myself and my brother. We didn't hear anything from nvc and we were hopeful. In 2019, my mum ed due to complications from covid in the US and I knew it would somehow affect our filing. In 2020, they said my petition was approved but I didn't get mail or letters from them until 2022 when they said Ishould submit my documents which I did. From nvc, my case was transferred to uscis and each time i checked for update, I was told to wait as they were gong through my documents and will get back to me. Now my sister just received a letter from uscis with the title NOTICE OF INTENT TO REVOKE. Just to add, my brother has been in the US since 2015 because he went through the study route while I'm the only one here in Nigeria but we are both still waiting for this filing to come through and we both received this letter of revocation.

They say humanitarian reinstatement is not available in instances where the petitioner has died prior to the approval of the petition and now they say we need to submit evidence in of the petition and in opposition of the proposed revocation. I don't even know what other type of evidence to submit as I'm not there with them.

In this case where the petitioner is no longer alive and we only have our sister whos is the sponsor, what can we do and how do we go about it? Im so confused right now, imagine waiting alone for 8 years and not being able to see your family or even your only parent alive just to get this type of response.
Your suggestions will really be appreciated. Thank you
