"Each mallam to his kettle ", for what is wise in your sight might seem foolish to the next man.

For me it's a NO NO... I don't like show-offs

Do you?
I have mixed feelings.
I want to build an online brand, share my tech journey, life experiences, and possibly earn from content creation.

People will reach out to you easily for jobs if you're competent and experienced, but how do they do that if you don't have an online presence that could build trust.

At the same time, I want a low-key life of privacy. What they don't know, they can't ruin. 🤷🏽

Even though I'm not a superstitious person, but I believe that evil people are everywhere regardless of race or nationality.

I didn't really care much about what people post on social media, until something bad happened to me due to that same social media.

I know so many people who would disagree with that statement, including my Mum and some family grin

Them go say "Wetin old person seat down see, pikin way climb tree no fit see am".

I'm on the fence though, I don't believe neither do I disbelief the possibility of such things.

I no go lie you sometimes I enjoy the attention and affirmation one gets from social media. Compliments, ability to connect with like minds.
The positive reinforcement on mental health.
And the massaging of Ego. 💅🏽

I think it can build confidence.

However I also understand how hateful we Nigerians can be. Once they see you're doing better than them, automatic competition don start. They will dig up ways to slander, discredit and defame you.

I've seen this severally on Nairaland.

I lost my baby last month because of Instagram... My husband is active on Instagram and he was so excited that we were going to have a baby that he even posted the picture of the ultrasound on his Instagram , not knowing that his ex has been stalking him with a different .

About a week later, she ed me and started telling me about how she's now born again and turned a new leaf, that she wanted to make amends for what happened in the past... I assured her that I've long moved on from what happened and held no grudge against her... She then suggested that we should meet, so that we could bury the hatchet the right way, again I fell for her trick and told her that I'll let her know when I'm around Limpopo and we'd meet... Because I'm the type of a person who believes in second chances.

My husband warned me against the idea, but I assured him that I wasn't planning on being friends with her, but I just wanted to hear her out in person.

Last month I visited my parents in Limpopo and I informed her that I was around... We arranged our meeting and since it was a restaurant, I didn't think anything bad could happen... Long story short, I ended up fighting for my life in hospital and lost the baby... I had to undergo three surgeries, all because of that ultrasound my husband posted on his Instagram.

Like 2024 isn't my year.

It depends on how you are addicted to posting. If you post lunatic, then you're foolish. Of course it's a good thing to showcase the wonders of the Lord in your life.

The peace of mind that comes with staying low is a luxury the wicked can't afford.

I have come to understand something about some people who post their achievements online; some of them are weak mentally. The only way to get that approval from people is to show it off.

cool

We ordered same beverages and she started telling me how her phone battery was about to die and asked if I could charge it in my car while we were still hanging out, I didn't see anything wrong with it, so I took her phone along with the charger and headed to the car.

That's when she got the chance to spike her drink and stylishly switched it with mine... The restaurant wasn't packed that day and the girl was so foolish, she didn't even investigate the security system of that restaurant before she finally decided to go ahead with her plan... The restaurant has some CCTV cameras even though they're not easily noticeable.

After our meeting, I headed to my father's workplace and I was in his office when I started feeling unwell.

I do blame myself for what happened, but at the same time, I didn't know that she was planning something sinister against me, the same way my husband didn't know that posting that picture was gonna cause trouble because people post their ultrasound pictures on social media all the time and nothing bad happens to them.

If you know, you know. Make I tell you one real life story.
Back then in uni i was dating one mbaise girl like that. We were having issues every time cause she was cheating back to back, i still be jew-man that time. So there's this long sleeve shirt I bought before resumption, very beautiful shirt. I washed it and hanged it outside to dry and it got missing. I asked her, she said she didn't see it.

Situations like that do occur since na student environment, but not frequently. After searching relentlessly for the shirt I decided to let it go, but my intuition wouldn't relent, it said I should inform my people. I placed a call, my aunty said she will get back to me, let her do some "Inquiry", after some minutes she called and said that the shirt is with a girl I was dating that she wants to use it to visit a witch doctor to tie me down spiritually so I can be doing her biddings. shocked That I should let the girl know, that if she doesn't bring it out she will run mad within few days.

I was reluctant at first cause I no believe all those kan thing, but then I relayed the message to the bitch. Can you believe this girl gently stood up from where she was sitting, reached for the top of her wardrobe and brought out my shirt. Then she was like "I hid it so I will see your reaction, I was just joking with you". 🥲
Are you sure the girl is from mbaise? Mbaise girls are lovely.

Well, you can't be too sure with these girls.

She's from mbaise 100%. I'm sorry to say this, but imo state women are too promiscuous.

My cousin married from mbaise and their marriage is doing just fine, so I might be generalising. But most Anambra people especially women will strongly disagree with your statement.
