I am Yoruba, but we need to tell ourselves the reality. Go to Sarki, Fiditi, Ogbomosho, the level of illiteracy is appallingly high. Meanwhile, even in SE villages, as a stranger you will meet everyone there communicating with English or pidgin, apart from Ibo..

Note that there are millions of Igbos doing well academically in the SW (especially Lagos etc) and the South South where there are ethnically Igbo speaking areas (whether they choose to identify ad Igbos or not).

There is age bracket of individuals covered. As such, this doesn't mean a particular tribe is the most educated perhaps the percentage rating again is per region population of the age bracket covered. Get the statistics right.

Stop lying. I'm from Saki and I'm there right now and I've never met any stark illiterate there. Some of them might not be speaking Queen's grammar though but that isn't a yard stick to judge literacy as the ones you see as illiterate are more educated than you and most people in Owerri you just mentioned because asides the fact that they can speak,read and write English slightly,they can read and write Arabic which makes them more educated
