What’s the best way to apply for a fresh port or renew an expired port in Nigeria? I’ve got a guy who works with Immigration. He’s pretty good but with the new port system, can I just apply online, or should I ask him to help facilitate the process?

I heard a story about someone who applied online for a port, and when he didn’t get a date for his capture, he went in and was told, “Online will let you know when it’s time for capture.” Lol.

Apply online by yourself, make payment, book appointment, then discuss with him for the whatever other assistance you need, the new application is pretty straightforward.

To be honest, your chances are very slim, unless you fit into a category like healthcare or french. Use the CRS calculator to check your tentative scores. Check page 1 for details

My advice will be use the guy you have. A friend did the later i.e. online for her kids and it was not a pleasant experience and she had to facilitate things with an officer after multiple visits to the immigration office which yielded no result for months.

1. For POF, Must our statement of be signed, or we can use the one generated from the app without it signature and all

2. Can I merge documents together? My bank didn’t write current balance I have in my s on the reference letter issued. So I want to merge the reference letter with SOA for my two s in one pDF. Is this allowed?

3. I have a usd and a naira , I Intend to have a first page stating Documents I have as POF and and summing both s to reflect my total balance, while taking screenshots of xe.com conversions.

My intention is to merge all those documents together as one

Regarding my work experience, I am doing something similar, however I am confused if I should include SOA for all the years I have worked. For example I worked from 2018 - 2022

And then worked for few months in 2024

Should I include all SOA between 2018 and 2022 or should I only include resent salaries in 2024

1. Signed SOA attests to the legitimacy of the financial documents. A visit/email to the bank branch should all you need.

2. Merging is allowed 100%

3. As long as they are both in your name and in good standing you should be fine.

4. Work Experience- salary deposits/payslips is not a requirement, wouldn’t hurt to add it for sure, perhaps last 6 months of employment.
Usually if the officer needs payslips or salary deposits, he asks for it as ADR. It’s best to keep application as simple as possible. Besides, Most folks get PPR without such request.

Firstly, I have specified in my profile that I only have 1yr foreign work experience but now asked to two employments record as my personal history says I have worked in these places. Note that I am only claiming points for 1

Secondly, My baby does not have a port, only birth certificate. Even though we applied for one, it will not be till 3months time which is more than the 60days required to submit the application.

Lastly I read that we are no longer required to do upfront medical exam but was asked to proof.


Please what do I do in these situations. Help a brother

Firstly,…..You may have filled the 2nd one in work history too in error. Check your profile carefully again…If you can get the 2nd one, please do.
If not submit for the first one + an LOE explaining why you can’t provide the 2nd one and mention you are not claiming point for it. You have to be very sure you didn’t get point for the 2nd job though as your CRS may be recalculated.

Secondly,… attach a Letter of Explanation (LOE) in placeholder for port- that you started the baby’s port process already + evidence/docs from NIS that shows when the port for baby will be ready+ birth certificate and mention that you will via webform immediately you get it.

Lastly,….attach blank sheet per IRCC recommendation.

Thank you. I have checked. I did indeed put two work experiences for myself and one for my spouse hence they were asking for proof for each of these periods. I have gone to delete them.

Sent to Abuja vfs it went to Ghana also, ports came back after 3weeks. eCOPR got added 1 week after I had sent it. Official Approval 2 weeks later I sent, port took 1 week to get to me
